To live is always preferable...I saw that on a TV show once...When you get closer to death and are offered an unexpected extension... who would say no

Honestly the bioroid thing...a perfect chance to get a younger actor to do the stunts. Old Picard can stay in the mind or as a hologram when needed. But no they have to drag it out in a weird convo at the end to make up for not going for a newer actor.

It wouldn't have been his first choice. But since Soong, Soji, and Jurati did it, and he found out after it was already done, he probably figured, "The Hell with it." If he's not going to notice a difference except for the lack of a brain defect, he'll try to keep on going about.
Remember, he was dying from a disease, not the end of his normal expected lifespan. I’d sure take the bump for a few more headache-free years.

If Picard were given the choice, I think he would have declined. Waking up as an android clone of himself, what can be do except go on with life? If I woke up as an android clone of my dead self, I mean, I'm not going to complain.
Because he was written that way. The question is, was the writing for his character flawed.
not really, that's the same JL that had a bionic heart for most of his life. I don't recall him ever to be upset about that. He just has a couple of protheses more now, if you think about it
I don't think he'd have chosen it himself, but it was chosen for him and he's gonna run (walk briskly) with it and not waste it.
An artificial heart and being a synthetic life are very, very different.
But regardless, I actually think he would have been fine with it. He spent how many years treating Data as being alive, to suddenly shun synthetic life would be hypocritical.
Just a shame the writers felt compelled to go in that direction in the first place.
This sounds very Picard.
After finally having closure regarding Data, it seemed like Picard was ready to live again, having spent the last several years in regret and sorrow. So I think he treated it as a rare gift meant to be lived out to the fullest.
That’s a good question, because I personally felt that the character changed from TNG to PIC, and I don’t just mean that he’s older. But with that being said, I don’t really think either the Picard from TNG or this Picard would have had any major moral or fundamental problems with what happened, given that he was in so much pain and that he felt that death was the only option because he wasn’t aware that there was a second option until it was given to him unknowingly.
Yes it is. Because it is Picardin this show and he was ok with it.
Fans have this fixed image of their heroes. Thing is, people change. Always. That's what happens in real life. I'm different now than I was 20 years ago. So is Picard. He even changed during the season, finding more will to keep going with his life.
Real humans aren't stagnant creatures who remain the same for decades. If you want that for your tv/movie/book characters, you're expecting unrealistic individuals.
