Would like to see Enterprise come back…

The 27th century? You’ve lost me.

Tbf, I don’t think I ever had you to begin with.

And what does the whole audience want to see?

Star Trek: Legacy, for starters…

This is the key point. Shows like Star Trek rely on a much larger audience than just the hardcore fans. The opinions of the people who post here probably only represent a tiny portion of the overall audience, who typically don't go on internet forums to make their opinions known. They just stop watching.

When the hardcore fanbase is ignored, it does not bode well for obtaining casuals. Since is the hardcore that keep it going for years.

Yes, TOS & TNG are the mainstream Treks, DS9 & VOY are in the middle, & ENT the Trek for hardcore fans.

But ignoring the hardcore is just stupid.

some fans want to see it. I still haven't seen some tremendous clamor from casual viewers for this. And fan are fickle. Trying to please the fans too much is.. well this is a great place for Chakotey to tell this story he once heard about a scorpion and a fox..

Star Trek Legacy is the rumored series that Terry Matalas wants to continue as a Picard spin off series that's supposed to be about the younger characters that were in season 3 and the events that place in that season was well acted and watching it was like one giant movie experience . With
Jack Crusher Picard and Beverley's son ,Geordi's Daughters and Seven of 9 and Raffi's adventures on board the new Enterprise G
I really hope this will become anew tv series like Strange new worlds did to continue their adventures.

Until a few days ago, I hadn’t even heard of Legacy. So, not literally the entire random.

I’m very, very curious what your logic is here because in my experience, the hardcore fans do an excellent job of chasing new fans away.

I’m not quite sure what that comment is supposed to mean, but is there a reason why you chose to make it rather than just answer my question?

Why didn’t you answer my question if it’s a likeness issue as to why there’s no ENT animation. And why do you feel entitled to an answer to your question and I’m not entitled to mine?

Since I asked about it before. And it was suggested that there are issues with getting the Bakula/Archer likeness. Which is important if they don’t want to go on and do an animated show without him. Otherwise they could have brought back the rest of the ENT cast already to do a miniseries by now. And even bring in Kim Rhodes to play T’Pol (who was originally on the short list to play T’Pol) if Blalock really does not want to come back.

I already discussed this over a year ago. In this same thread in fact. Note the bolded part.

And there are no more casual fans anymore, of any form of entertainment. Its all-hardcore fans now. There are too many entertainment choices for there to be a causal audience, so you may as well cater to the hardcore fans. Since only the hardcore fans will buy anything and bring in new fans.

It’s the hardcore fans that CBS are relying on for all of their shows, and why they are allowed to take risks like the Starfleet Academy show and Section 31 movie. Since they are depending on word of mouth from the hardcore to friends, family, and co-workers around them to keep them into the mainstream.

What are you going on about? You didn’t ask me any question about a likeness issue about animation. You just made a statement that animation should be how they need to go. You didn’t ask me about my opinion of that matter, so there was no reason why I felt the need to reply to it.

So I’ll ask you again: what did you mean by the 27th century for the time period where the prime universe and the mirror universe were similar? Or did you mean the 17th century?

That’s… so far wrong I don’t even know where to begin. If anything, the proliferation of streaming services and the entertainment choices that come with it makes the hardcore fans even more irrelevant than they’ve ever been.

I mean, the terms we're using here are so ill-defined that I don't really know how to evaluate these things. What's a "hard-core fan?" ENT at its lowest had about 2.75-3 million people watching every week, which was a small fraction of the ratings TNG had commanded; only a small fraction of the ENT viewers went online to talk about it. I don't know how many people watch ST today, but it's probably safe to say it's only a small fraction of them who go online to talk about it. So I don't know which group constitutes the "hard-core" fans, and therefore how to assess the level of influence they do or do not have on the shows' production.

I would, but not without Phlox. I read an interview with John Billingsley where he said he probably wouldn't want to go through makeup anymore.

You were backing a dead horse with this one a year ago. Still showing no signs of life.

This type of mentality also thought DS9 wouldn’t get any follow up and yet it did with LD last season. That type of mentality even thought Patrick Stewart would not come back to Star Trek. Yet it happened.

Yes, I’m going to back some sort of Enterprise follow. The thing with Enterprise is that it requires a lot more work to get some sort of meaningful followup because of its aforementioned unpopularity when compared to its four live action predecessors. And so far, such support has lead to it being considered for a future episode of LD. And the NX refit being made canon in PIC S2
and PIC S3
.

Aside from the ENT cast collaborating together, writing a pilot script for a miniseries themselves, their script getting blessed by Frakes, and Kurtzman approving it once he sees it, I’m not sure what else can be done anyway.

(Yes, I’m aware of the current writer’s strike, and support them. I’m just mapping it out.)

Despite the point you were trying to make, your position is not based in reality. Quite ironic.

Bolding mine.

FederationHistorian, you're dancing on the razor's edge with your wording. Please take care to address the post, not the poster.

If you told me I could wave a magic wand and greenlight any Trek project I want, it would be Enterprise Season 5, with Manny Cato returning as Showrunner, and the whole cast returning (including Combs). I'm bias, as Archer is my favorite Captain, the NX-01 is one of my favorite starships, T'Pol is my favorite ST character, period, and suffice to say that ENT is one of my favorite shows. If the desire was there, I think it'd be completely doable.

I'd be satisfied with a movie, though. :)

I agree. I think ENT finally started to show its potential under Coto's guidance. I can watch Season 4 from start to finish. I'd love to see IDW pick it up as a comic in some form or another.
