Would it be cool if the Borg appear on Star Trek Academy?

Which Borg?

The friendly ones allied with the Federation since Picard season 3, or the nasty ones who want to assimilate all life in the universe?

It has been over nine hundred years since Picard season 3.

The Kathryn Janeway Borg Queen from the novels, is on file, and they could probably boot her up if the situation calls for it.

Unlike some others, I'm not tired of the Borg but I am tired of them as villains. That's been played out as far as it could go. I'd rather see the Borg as powerful allies of the Federation that don't go around assimilating everyone but don't take kindly to anyone intruding on their space either. Enter Borg space at your own risk.

The Borg should be treated like a computer virus that takes over ships, downloads peoples memories into the computer virus as Data. They have evolved beyond the need for ships and drones. They exists now as pure data that is still absorbing information from species and cultures. They then destroy the ships and people's bodies afterwards to stop any kind of counter resistance to them.

I always thought the Borg Cooperative had some mileage in portraying a possible future for the Borg, one free from the baggage of villainy but still connected to their destructive past.

A smart writer could evolve the Borg into something similar to the Bynars, essentially communicating using a super-advanced pseudo-telepathic mechanism and use that as an analogue for how humans can be too reliant on technology for communication etc

Think of things like Neuralink and transhumanism, and all the fears surrounding that. Then put it in the Star Trek Universe.

Well the 'Good" borg go around helping people, if there still around doing that, It wouldn't be a stretch to see a lone borg in the academy. It would be a good alegory for a number of stories.
Have them walk around with the surperior attitude like Seven had.

The Borg are surely interested in assimitalting the Academy with all the knowledge.
But I don't need to see them again in Star Trek.

Have you seen Black Mirror or Severance?

A "copy" of you is still you, well, another you, who is not interested in being a slave for the rest of eternity.

Imagine you were locked in a box, but every 300 years, the Borg asked you about the 6 times tables, because that's your job, to figure out what 6 times something is whenever they want to multiply anything by 6, waiting inside a tiny box for their unknown adventures to run smack dab into a math puzzle only you can solve.

Hero of the Borg!
