Worst Main Cast Character in Any ST TV Series

Her contract was up and she had a better paying job offer, with better billing. It was a professional decision to leave instead of renewing for a one year contract.

She was on Becker for six (six?) years.

Terry stayed for 4 years.

The show lasted 6 years.

No idea why she couldn't last the distance this time?

But a year later after Becker, she's seemed to have given up acting.

Wikipedia says Farrell's retirement was about concentrating on her family and mastering Yoga.

I saw her at a con, she was pretty pissy about DS9 not giving her more money.

I was REALLY happy with Ezri, a big boost for the final season IMO. Jadzia only works for me as a character because of her relationship with others, gal pals with Kira, tragic Worf marriage. On her own, meh.

The last season of Babylon 5, EVERYONE took a pay cut because they wanted to see the story finished.

The last couple episodes of Smallville, Tom Welling gave his paycheck away (He worked for free.) to pay for Michael "Lex Luthor" Rosembaum to come back after retiring from the series 3 years earlier.

The show must go on.

I like Ezri!

I must admit that I didn't like that Jadzia was killed off and the actress kicked out or whatever.

But I like Ezri. My only objection is that she shouldn't have been a Dax but a different character. The way they came up with this plot was like pouring salt in the wounds of the Jadzia fans.

I must also admit that I didn't watch DS9's last season until a couple of years after it was aired, due to stupid politics of one of my TV channels. In fact, I didn't watch that season until last year on DVD so the worst storm had faded then.

She was kicked out?! I thought she left voluntarily?

Dude, why would they kick out an actress after 6 years? That does not even make sense.

If they did, I am seriously disappointed with the producers.

My post came out worse than I intended to. I don't know the circumstances around her leaving. According to most sources, she left voluntarily.

Whatever, they shouldn't have killed off the character. She should have gone for a posting somewhere in the Gamma Quadrant and Ezri could have replaced her.

Worst? I'd vote for Kim, which is a shame since there are so very few Asian characters in the franchise (or just general American pop culture) anyway. Still, he had Timeless, which helped provide Wang with some good acting range.

I used to despise Neelix at the start, but over the years I've come to sympathize with him more. He's just so gosh-darned earnest that I wouldn't mind him as a friend -- as a colleague maybe not, but that's not his fault, either.

Mayweather is sorely lacking, and he could have been worst on my list, but it's hard to dislike someone who isn't actually there. He was, unfortunately, merely a main character who was treated as recurring. Had Enterprise lived for 7 seasons but the treatment of Mayweather remained the same, he would've gotten the vote.

Gul Dukat should have stuck his thumbs in her eye sockets, and then jumped up and down on her ribcage until her head came off.

Or maybe something actually traumatising?

Her death was so antiseptic.

Magic red rays push against a wall, and then she lives long enough to say goodbye to Worf.

Yawn?

But what about Worf? How would we actually have feelings for him if he wasn't thrown into terrible grief?

Good question. I liked him because his acting got better and I liked his story progression. First couple of years (from what I caught anyway) were a little flat for me.

Katherine Pulaski  horrible women for the franchise but if were talking just Voyager, erm probably Chakotay because after a few years he basically does nothing but crash shuttles.

Yeah on Pulaski.

What a horrible set up for the first officer episodes. I wouldn't want an assignment with him if it involved shuttles or a curiosity so deep he ignores closure of exits or gets me infected.

It had some good episodes but was way to formulaic and really didn't deliver on its initial premise. The cast lacked any real spark and as such most of the dialogue came across as incredibly stilted. A more talented cast could elevate the material but half of them just looked disinterested.

I'd place Malcolm Reed and Travis Mayweather lower than anyone from Voyager. And I'd place Neelix pretty low too, because in most of his episodes he's straight up irritating.

A lot of boring characters. A lot of useless characters. Many could be tiresome or even unlikable at times. But the only character who I personally actively disliked from beginning to end was Neelix. Every time he talked, I wanted to tell him to shut up. Every time.
