Family Guy Blue Harvest was the best take on this line!"...made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs."
Oh, wait. Wrong universe.![]()
No need for an essay, but some manner of hint to inform us which line you disliked would be a help.Well, I was going to say Best of Both Worlds, but apparently it needs to be in essay format.

Personally, I cinge at the line where Data doesn't recognize the cliche about the early bird catching the worm, and tells LaForge that he doesn't detect any crawling vermicular or avian lifeforms. It more than crosses the line between naivete and plain stupidity, which really stands out in an episode which otherwise displays some truly excellent character moments.
TOS: Catspaw...
Kirk refering to the Macbeth witches...
Kirk: Opinion, Spock?
Spock: Very bad poetry, Captain.
LOL
In a similar vein, Data's 'It appears we will be required to ignite the midnight petroleum, sir' as a reinterpretation of 'burning the midnight oil'. Why would he take a human expression and use needlessly replace words with synonyms? Never mind that 'burn' and 'ignite' have distinctly different definitions (ignition being a small subset of the burning process).
Still, I guess that's not too different than Geordi's 'Leak? I'm not detecting any leak'.
*shudder* definitely agree on that one![]()
Yup, worst line ever, and they repeated it over and over again
"Allamaraine, count to four,
Allamaraine, then three more,
Allamaraine, if you can see,
Allamaraine, you'll come with me..."
I read a humor bit in Reader's Digest about Macbeth... a mother was listening to her kids playing at being the witches, and one of the little girls started chanting, "Double, double, toilet trouble..."TOS: Catspaw...

Kirk: Opinion, Spock?
Spock: Very bad poetry, Captain.

I really liked that one!
One that makes me cringe is the woman from Venus being shaped like a penis poem that Picard interrupts Data in the middle of. So awkward.

This episode is actually one of the earliest Trek memories I have and honestly, the innocence of it really drew me in. If I saw it today however, I would cringe for sure.Wait, so you really liked "I'm with Starfleet. We don't lie"? Seriously????![]()
