Worf in "Picard"

Not to surprised, they're going to want to save some people for future seasons.
I don’t see the big deal with the Klingon look being different in Discovery. Us, as earthlings, have many different colours and races. We don’t all look the same. Considering the Klingons live on a variety of plants, not just Kronos, why is it not possible they don’t all look alike?
It wouldn't bother me if they had a combination of all of the different looks, but most of them usually look the same, and when one doesn't, like Voq in Season 1, it's a big deal. Season 2 did give us a bit more variety in looks, so that and the comic, could build up to a bigger variety of styles of Klingons.

Interesting news it makes you wonder why CBS quashed the Worf rumors so quickly. At least Micheal Dorn won't look like yucky Discovery Klingons.

Yucky? Have you seen Season 2?

Also a picture at the Picard museum had him in TNG makeup.

I can't remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that Bryan Fuller insisted on the new design for the Klingons because he wanted them more alien looking. Usually I love his stuff, but as time when on I learned that almost all of the bad ideas in the early Discovery episodes came from Fuller. Getting rid of him actually turned out to be the best thing that happened to Discovery.

Insurrection does at least have the line about Worf being on the way to a conference before getting picked up by the Enterprise, so they tried to explain his presence on the Enterprise. Nemesis didn't even do that much.

Pretty sure there was a deleted line where Worf offhandedly says he "wasn't cut out for the job of diplomat."

Which I find even MORE insulting than ignoring it, just hand-waving it away with bullshit like that. The point was that Worf was NOT your typical ambassador. He didn't know the political world, but he knew both the Klingon and Federation world better than any single person ever. And he was going to be working with his best friend/adoptive brother, Martok.

Worf is also still wearing command red in NEM, so he obviously just didn't go back to tactical (though I doubt literally anyone connected with the production even noticed that detail.)

But, then again, NEM also erased Wesley's character arc due to laziness/stupidity and made Janeway an admiral, so it's par for the course.

Good god, NEMESIS was fucking terrible.

Official trailer pulled after release cause it says Khan.
:lol:I forgot about that one. It was a TV spot with a close up of a graphic that read "KHAN". And Paramount learned that nothing is deleted forever on the internet.

And the funniest thing is, they'd previously redubbed and edited that entire space jump scene to call him "Harrison" and played it to journalists months prior.

Just like that spot for the next movie that revealed the big surprise about Krall XD
Simon Pegg urged everyone not to watch any spots anymore!

I saw the Worf picture from the Picard Museum in another thread here. I'm just curious why Worf won't be in the series and Beverly Crusher's fate too since there's alot of rumors going around it makes me wonder what happens to her character.

I’m far more curious as to why they won’t be joined in their absence by Riker, Data, et. al. This was pitched as “NOT TNG”. Sure seems headed to TNG 2.0.

I’m already less interested with every further announcement of a TNG guest. Add Worf and Crusher and this might become the least enticing new Trek series I’ve come across.

Yup.

Yeah, they're not main characters. For all we Riker and Troi only show up in a single episode.

They're some of Picard's closest friends, not mentioning them or them not appearing at least once in some form would be weird unless they're dead.

Not that being dead is stopping Data.

From the bits and pieces I've read, it sounds like Riker at least, might be in a couple episodes. Although with Frakes directing episodes it can hard to tell when he was around as a director and when he was around as an actor.
I think it'd be more unrealistic for at least some of the TNG characters not to show up. Once Picard is active in interstellar affairs again, there is no way at least some of his former crew members won't get involved.
I'm just hoping they haven't killed anybody off.

At least the books managed to give us a good story around how Worf ended up back on the Enterprise.

I loved the explanation the books gave for why Wesley was in a uniform at the wedding. He was still a Traveler, and he thought it was going to be a Betazoid wedding, so he showed up naked. The only only thing they could find for him to wear was an extra uniform.

I thought it was Beverly next to Picard when they open up B-4's... ummm... storage unit in the trailer? We only see from above so perhaps I'm wrong.

Michael Dorn is still pushing for his Captain Worf series. If he's not in Picard, and the show establishes he didn't survive the 20 years...

It is NOT TNG 2.0! Picard isn't captain of the Enterprise, Riker and Troi aren't under his command, etc... Same characters does not equal same show.

Yeah, they're not main characters. For all we Riker and Troi only show up in a single episode.

The TNG cast is a rather large ensemble, so even mentioning them is taking story time away from what the story of the show is. Secondly, it would strain credulity for me (not that Star Trek hasn't gotten away with it in the past) that along the way every single person Picard needs in his mission is a former crew member.

Sorry, the main appeal for me in this Picard show is the Romulan angle. Taking time to go over "Where are they Now" segments is not appealing.

None of the TNG characters are part of the mission, the new characters are going to be the ones he's actually going out on his new mission with. The TNG characters are just going to be in fairly small, maybe recurring roles. Data might be playing a bigger part that Riker and Troi, but he's still not going to be a major character.

Glad if Worf is not in Picard. No KlingOrks please. Re-watching DS9 right now has reminded me just how BAD the STD KlingOrks are. As for the season 2 "improvements" : lipstick on a pig.

They're not part of the mission as far as we know.

I'm guessing Starfleet sends Riker to try and reason with him, since he's his former first officer and probably his closest friend. Other than Riker, Troi and Data, no other former TNG cast members have been confirmed.

I thought it was Beverly next to Picard when they open up B-4's... ummm... storage unit in the trailer?
People think that's one of the main cast, someone who has experience is positronic technology. Pretty sure they would have announced that Gates was in the show if she showed up in the trailer.

1. They don't look anything like Orcs, I don't know what show you've been watching.
2. There is a publicity photo of Worf from TNG in TNG make up as part of the show's marketing and might show up in the show itself.
So if he did show up, I doubt they'd change the makeup much if they didn't edit that picture.
