Worf and Jadzia's marriage after the series.

DS9

What do you think would have happened to both Worf and Jadzia had she never died when the series was over. This is something that I had not put a lot of thought into. Part of me says that they would have stayed on DS9. Regardless what would have happened, I believe that Worf would have turned out to be a drastically different character. He wouldn't have been in some of the later Next Gen movies for one is he would have stayed on DS9. What do you guys think about all of this. I believe it is a rather interesting question.

No reason Worf and Martok couldn't have pulled some strings to get Jadzia assigned to Quo'Nos, so I don't see any need for Worf to have to stay on DS9.

I can see them living on the Klingon Homeworld or serving onboard a Klingon warship. And if Jadazia doesn't die, that means the pregnancy she had before she died doesn't get terminated so I also see them raising their child and Worf's son Alexander adjusting to the new addition to the family.

I don't she was pregnant when she died. Julian had just told her she was able to have kids with Worf IIRC.

If I think of Jadzia throughout DS9, I think that character would have left Worf after a few years.

It would have interested to see Jadzia incorporated somehow into the last two TNG movies alongside Worf. I can definately imagine her in on the surface with Worf in Insurrection. Nemesis not so much a role, although she might have made a appearance at the beginning during the wedding reception..

^ I doubt we'd have seen her in the movies. Most likely they would just have someone ask Worf about her and him just say she is fine and then move on.

If the writers went on with them having a baby I think they would probably have just had Worf stay on the station with Jadzia. I don't think they would move them both to Qo'noS. If they didn't have a kid they would both have gone to Qo'noS, Jadzia's Curzon memories of dealing with Klingon pollies would have made them a good pair for that job.

I agree completely. Then we would have had Worf be an absentee dad to two kids.

If someone whould've said this BEFORE the seventh season started, I would not have agreed. But in Afterimage, when Ezri en Julian are sharing a drink and she sort of casually remarks that, if Worf hadn't come along, it would've been Julian....... I couldn't take Jadzia serious anymore.

I don't agree at all. There's no evidence to support the idea that Jadzia would have cheated or even left - we never see her in a long-term relationship before Worf, we only hear occasionally about dates. She was flirty and enjoyed spending time with men, but that's not the same as being unfaithful.

Of course, we have no evidence that she wouldn't have left him as well, but I'm not the one making the claim here. :p

I think that even one of the producers/writers noted Jazdia would of cheated on worf the night before the wedding with one of the sutherland crew if it wasn't for her party being ruined by the Klingon women.

She didn't want to shag the big Polynesian guy, just admire him. I think the people who assume she wasn't sincere about Worf didn't take into account the essentially loyal nature of Dax, who remained faithful to previous spouses. Why would she want to marry Worf at all if she wasn't serious about being his wife? It doesn't make any sense, nor is there any proof that she would have treated marriage as just another relationship. She was honest enough to just keep it as that, if that was all she wanted.

^ Exactly, thank you. If she was just looking for a Curzon-esque fling, she would've said so and done so. But this woman has been married multiple times, been a mother and a father.

Of course Julian would have been next in line if Worf didn't come along, there is not much of a choice, Sisko in her mind is still that little Ensign that Curzon molded into a Commanding Officer, O'Brien is married, Garak and Quark don't have to be explained, and all that leaves us is Odo which goes without saying isn't anywhere near the running.

Plus it seemed to me that Jadzia treated Julian like a little kid anyways, like if he was someone to watch over, which you can see in some of the series, which is why she brushed him off.

Worf was the first man to enter her life that actually challenged her and acted like a man, by standing up and following his beliefs, right or wrong, and that gave Dax something she wanted. Someone who'd stand by their decisions and not end up in another useless marriage that will be a waste of the Dax's time.

This is true and I want to clarify - I don't think she was going to cheat on Worf.
I just think that, despite Jadzia's Klingon side, her free-spiritedness would eventually have come to a head with Worf's conservatism.
She might have been a character to introduce polyamory to Star Trek, which of course Worf wouldn't tolerate.

Ahh, certainly possible; on the other hand, she might have been able to change Worf enough that he'd be a better fit with larger Klingon culture.

Gaaa, I guess I am going to have to get my disks out tonight and figure out who said that about her and the Polynesian...
