Wonder Woman(NBC) *Spoilers!*

The outfit looks quite good - and she's certainly well-cast for the part. I'm getting use to the red boots, I guess...they work for Superman, after all.

The pants appear to be jumbo spandex, dull side out. The top's likely PVC.

Pfeiffer's costume was kind of ridiculous, though nowhere near as awful as Berry's.

My favorite Catwoman costume will always be Julie Newmar's. (Okay, also Lee Meriwether's and Eartha Kitt's, but Newmar looked best in it.) Though it might be nice to see a live-action interpretation of her classic purple dress from the comics. (As for her current garb in the comics, with the aviator goggles or whatever, I think it looks awful.)

Totally agreed, especially re: the Julie Newmar costume. Newmar-as-Catwoman is still one of the sexiest comic-book characters ever portrayed on screen, and was pretty much everything the character should have been (allowing for the "camp" factor, of course).

And I can't stand the current "aviator glasses" look, either. What the bloomin' 'eck aviator goggles have got to do with cats has always been quite beyond me.

I like it that she's wearing all-white. Kind of an homage to her standard outfit during the I Ching era in the comics.

I thought the same thing!

"Getting used to the red boots"?!? Apart from the "I Ching" era that Christopher mentioned, Wonder Woman's had red footwear since her creation (even the sandals she used to have were red).

Edited to Add: Oops, I see Praetor Shinzon beat me to it. :p

I think Dennis was referring to the style of Carter's boots, not the fact that they were red. They're close to the ones Wonder Woman wears in the comics, but they are a bit goofy-looking.

This is my favorite pic so far. While Christopher Reeve had plenty of physical similarities to Superman, the main thing he had going for him was complete confidence while wearing the suit. He never once looked self-conscious while wearing it.

Palicki's giving off a similar vibe in this picture. I imagine it's no mean feat to walk around in a red bustier and a tiara in broad daylight, surrounded by dozens of people on set.

According to that little piece of the script, she has to lift that guy up and carry him over her shoulder. Though Adrienne is quite a good choice for WW they are probably going to have to find a way to help her as she doesn't look strong enough. I'm not even sure if Carter could lift guys the way they made it seem

I agree I think she looks gorgeous in that picture. It feels like a big budget WW movie is being made.

This must hurt after a while.

Also WW filming update (Thurs. night):

Adrianne has been injured on set, nothing major but tonite we have 2 stunt doubles, and her stuff is being added later =/

So no more Adrianne tonite but still filming till 7am the flying rigs are being tested now. Debating on staying or not...

BTW what's the procedure if Palicki becomes pregnant? Would a Wonder Girl have to be cast?

Lynda Carter broke the mold when it comes to Wonder Woman. :D

Lynda Carter was just the best lady to play Wonder Woman that came along. Anybody else could have played her, and anybody else can do so now today.

That said, I hope that this new show is different from what's been mentioned by the OP.

People keep saying that. We've been too conditioned by bodybuilders and comic-book artists to think that strength requires bulk. Palicki is 5'11", a very tall woman, which makes her seem thinner than she actually is. And to all indications she's very athletic. Her shoulders and arms certainly seem to have good muscle definition to me, keeping in mind that women have more body fat over their muscles than men do so that their muscle definition is less clearly visible.

It has been a while since I said that...I don't know why you are commenting on it now.

I was a little jaded when I started this thread...which was a while ago (February 2 2011, 10:29 AM)...but I was having some fun when I said what you quoted. ;)

I am hopeful that AP will be great and from the current crop of images...she looks great. :bolian:

Wonder Woman has always had red boots in the comics.

Except when she had sandals way back when, but that has nothing to do with what I posted. The initial version of this outfit had boots matching the tights, which I preferred. The red boots look a little too hookerish for my taste, and I don't actually give a damn how many times they've appeared in comic books.

Why is this even a concern? Hollywood has always "helped" actors do things they are not physically capable of.
