Loved the new trailer. I think it might be the best DC trailer I have seen yet and I liked the first one for Suicide Squad.
Undercover mission maybe? Why is Steve Trevor wearing a German uniform complete with the Blue Max?
I was thinking the same thing. We just saw Wonder Woman fighting Germans. I'm sure there is some supernatural or other worldly threat, but I was thinking how interesting it would be if for once there wasn't.You know, it dawns on me that I have yet to hear anything about the who the villain in the movie is, nothing about anyone being cast as the Cheetah or Doctor Psycho or Circe or whomever? Is she just fighting the Kaiser's army in the new movie?
(There's a glimpse of a half-faced woman in the trailer, but I'm not sure if she's supposed to be some old comic-book character or not.)
"What I do is not up to you." Love it.
And the Golden Lasso effect looks cool, too.
And there's humor, too!![]()
I like it. The feminist aspects (I know that's a loaded word these days, hope this doesn't come off wrong) seems to be done well, it's there and with humor but not too preachy.
This just seems like an over-reaction -- kinda like the anti-female Ghostbusters movement... only from the left. This time, being-hypersensitive to what seems like an emphasis on breasts/sexuality, where for many, that is not necessarily so
"I was brought to life by Zeus."
I don't think it's seen as all that "loaded" these days. If anything, what I see these days is more and more cases of feminists proudly reclaiming the word and rejecting the notion that there's anything wrong with it. With Wonder Woman and the Ghostbusters taking the movies by storm, Supergirl and Jessica Jones thriving on TV, and a woman having good odds of becoming the next US president, I'd say we're way past the point where feminism needs to be talked about in hushed or apologetic tones.
I think sometimes it's interpreted to be militant or to be pushing for women to dominate rather than advocating for equality. I was just trying to make clear I didn't mean it as such. They may be trying to reclaim it but saying "feminist/m" just feels like it has baggage associated with it. I suppose we have good ol' Rush to thank for giving us "feminazis".
And that is exactly what people like him wanted -- to convince people that a movement about fighting for equality was about fighting for superiority, and thereby to discredit it. It's no different from the people today saying that Black Lives Matter is racist or about black supremacy. Or the people here in Cincinnati who once defeated an ordinance banning housing discrimination for LGBT people by claiming it was about "special rights" rather than equal rights. People who are used to being the dominant class often see equality as an injustice against themselves.

In fact, I would be surprised if they set the movie in this era in order to deliberately evoke the suffragette movement and its challenge to "Man's World."
...so sometimes I couch words I don't use often like feminism so people know I'm not attacking it.![]()
I can't believe that's Lucy Davis. I barely recognize her and only knew who she was when I looked up who played the character.I enjoyed our introduction to Etta Candy. She really made me smile.
That is seriously cool! Can't wait! The trailer is out!
