Wonder Woman 2 Anticipation Thread

John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Jade, Elongated Man (comics, not TV), Apollo, Jack Hawksmoor, Jenny Sparks, Swift, Captain Marvel and pretty much the entire Marvel Family, pretty much the entire Legion of Super-Heroes, several members of the Titans and Outsiders (Argent, Halo, Beast Boy, Cyborg, etc.), and - if you wish to call him a hero, better not do it to his face - Lobo.

I didn't know that. I only knew about Hal Jordan because of the movie and Jon Stewart who I think is a Green Lantern because of Youtube video's. Plus it's a name to easily recall because how do you not always connect if with the guy who use to do "The Daily Show."

I knew of John Stewart long before I'd heard of Jon Stewart.

There's also Alan Scott (a magical Golden Age hero, who is not a member of the GL Corps) Kyle Rayner, Jessica Cruz, and Simon Baz. Well, that's just the Earth GLs, there's actually hundreds or thousands (I'm not sure which) members of the Green Lantern Corps all over the galaxy (universe?).

What I'm asking is: what if she lost those extra powers after her purpose as the killer of Ares had been fulfilled? I'm not saying that's what happened, but I am saying that would be a reason.

Well then, they should bother stating that shouldn't they? Because absolutely nothing in the movie suggests that.

1984 is a revered anti-Communist tract, pushed on high school students almost as scripture. Reagan was president in 1984 and had re-heated the Cold War (until Gorbachev came along to sell the store.) The first Wonder Woman movie somehow convoluted itself so that it was a pacifist tract where nonetheless Wonder Woman heroically led American troops over the top against the filthy Huns. Putting it together it sounds like it is intended to be even handed about Trump, er, Reagan while Wonder Woman heroically saves America from Communism in the name of peace.

That's too bad. I was rather looking forward to 2019 seeing the release of female-lead Marvel, DC and Star Wars movies at the same time that there's a female lead on Star Trek and Doctor Who on television.

Yeah, on the one hand it's nice that they feel confident that the movie will be a massive summer blockbuster, but the 7 extra months wait will suck.

Nice try by Gal announcing this as HEY GREAT NEWS Y'ALL, but it sucks.

I kind of have mixed feelings on this, on the one hand the extra weight sucks, but it is good for the movie that it's getting a summer release.

I think Justice League should have been pushed back. It coming out the same year as the superior Wonder Woman did it no favors. Given the circumstances of changing directors it would have given more time to fix the problems.

If anything, Justice League made Wonder Woman look worse for the lack of continuity between the two regarding Diana's powers.

In one way it makes sense...the first WONDER woman did great in that spot, so why mess it up.

But that big delay also ruins the DC Film Universe momentum, assuming Shazam does fairly well as does Aquaman.

But is that mini series directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Chris Pine part of the reason. For the delay?

The other plus is that it opens on my wife's birthday.
