Wknd Est - Star Trek #3 - $29.4 million - $191 million (Final Numbers)

Re: Wknd Est - Star Trek #3 - $29.4 million - $191 million (Final Numb

If high numbers are so important, let's all just go see it again. Plan a date in the coming weeks or something, and everyone go see it on that day. Maybe we can give the movie another spike. We'll flood the theaters! :)

Going off of Iron Man, I think Trek will likely end right around $245-260 Mil.

Re: Weekend Estimates - Star Trek #3 - $29 million - $191 million

As for the overseas earnings, I'm going to see Star Trek again for the third time tonight. Considering that I've never went to see a movie more than once before and I can count the movies I've seen at the cinema this decade on one hand that is quite extraordinary for me.
I'm already wondering, the first time around I didn't notice the lens flares at all really. Then I read about them here bothering people and I have to say that they bothered me as well the second time around. Now I wonder how a third viewing will change that. :)
^

Let us know if it bothers you or not. :D Maybe it is an even odd thing. Even viewings you notice them, odd you don't.
Didn't bother me much this time. There were a few scenes here or there were it was a bit too much, but otherwise it's not too bad. I still think Abrams should've left them out mostly since I don't think they convey his notion of "a bright future" at all.

As for the money thing: I'm afraid me and the other four people at the cinema aren't going to increase the total all that much.
On the other hand, that's not all that surprising for a movie in its third week on a Tuesday night at 11pm.

Now it'll be interesting to see how much Star Trek slips Tuesday-Thursday, and then performs over the weekend.

You have Up and NatM2 vying for basically the same audience... If T4 drops off sharply a la Wolverine, maybe that'll put more butts in the seats.

Also--has school let out for most kids? I know my son had his last final examination today...

Am going for $6 million between Tuesday-Thursday and a 4th weekend total of $12 million...so that would leave TREK at $209 and also we should break $100 million oversea's so we break $300 million worlwide.

Re: Weekend Estimates - Star Trek #3 - $29 million - $191 million

Well IMAX is screen size, DP is ... not necessary dependent on screen size, right?

Meh. I'll google as time permits.. :p
DP? Double-penetration?

Is that how Terminator-Salvation is feeling, getting the thrust from the Enterprise's wonderous nacelles? :borg:

TS is feelin' it alright. at both ends. :borg:

(ST and NATM)
You are a dirty, very dirty girl.

Re: Weekend Estimates - Star Trek #3 - $29 million - $191 million

Awful for T4. I still can't believe several people here actually thought it would beat Star Trek.

I think the people saying that Terminator isn't nearly as popular as people thought were spot on. T3 didn't do great, and I think the whole thing with T4 was that it was PG-13 and they hoped that would open it up to a new audience - but it seems to have damaged it more than anything.

"Terminator for the Kiddes" seems like a good alternate title. ;)
Terminator is popular. Just that Terminator 4 is worth shit and was a complete crap.

I really like your enthusiam! lol

So.....how about we make the second weekend in June (June 12, 13 and 14) the "second" opening weekend for the film and all go see it once again or ten more times? :bolian:

Come on people! We have to stand really strong against the numbers Harry Potter and Transformers are going to be bringing in!
