I thought it was actually alright. Nowhere near as good as MXC, but last week's episode was funny enough. This week's hasn't aired yet.
Have you seen I Survived a Japanese Game Show? One of the contestants is someone I went to high school with (Mary) and it's so weird seeing her on TV.

It's trying to be "Ninja Warrior"/ Ultimate Banzuke" but failing. ABC might as well bring over the G4 shows.
My boyfriend and I joked that they were making this show so they could send it off to Japan to be dubbed with humorous commentary in Japanese. 
It's their MXC! By the way I love Ninja Warrior. But I think this show is alright for those who don't have cable or haven't heard of MXC/Ninja Warrior. It's bringing the fun to the masses, albeit in a watered down form. But it's not awful.

I just like seeing people wipe out. It's just gut bustingly funnyvfor some reason.

Plus Jill Wagner is hot. Yeah. I've recently been drooling over footage of zone mode in Wipeout HD, very Phantom Road-esque. Unfortunately it seems that Studio Liverpool is determined to never actually release the game.

I think the show's fun. It's no Takeshi's Castle, but it's solid mindless television. 
Sorry for bringing this thread back up, but I was tuning the TV this week and stopped on Wipeout. I actually like it as something to see just for a laugh, and I agree Jill Wagner is hot. I was watching the two episodes tonight (Yes don't remind me, I already know and am trying to work on it) and it was pretty fun.
God yes, I'm a huge fan. I even like Fusion more than most, but nothing beats the nostalgia of XL/2097.
I'm not old, but that's what I thought of first, too, if it's any consolation.
The "competiton" parts of the show aren't.... :gulp: bad. I just really hate the commentators and all the inuendo and the OTT interviews with the "contestants" and -even dumber- this past week with the "wrecking ball" they gave it DIALOGUE.
It surprises me to core of my very being that this show isn't on Fox.
