I think that things will look dire for her and they'll strongly hint that she will die, but in the end, she won't.

Along those lines, Jack has died. Many times.

Kamelion also died, but was only featured in a couple of stories due to difficulties with the robot prop.

Amy and Rory.

Technically, they lived a full life into their 80s after they stopped travelling with the Doctor. So, then, perhaps I should rephrase have any full time companions been killed (permanently) during their TARDIS travels other than Adric?

All signs point to a "shock moment" where she dies in Episode 10. I just hope it's not done purely for shock value, i.e. it's the last few minutes of the episode, everyone appears safe and they might be bantering or talking, and at the last second an alien pops up and kills her...like Kate on NCIS or something, when she was hit by a sniper. That would suck. I'd rather she dies doing something important. Saving the Doctor, sacrificing herself, etc.

I admit, I've been considering the possibility that Ashildr/Me caps her, completely randomly like that.

Ugh. Better not happen like that. Although it would be a "See, Doctor, what happens when you break the rules?! It costs you!" moment, it wouldn't make sense and it would make me hate Moffat forever.

I wonder if Moffat will remember that Clara is psychically linked to River Song

Maybe the Doctor has to choose if he should bring River back to life or Clara.

I think Peri's was quite tragic IMO

I'm pretty sure he's already forgotten.

Not much of a dilemma, River would never forgive him for sacrificing someone else just to resurrect her several hundred years after she died.

I just saw this synopsis for Episode 10, Face the Raven, over on io9.com:

The Doctor and Clara, with their old friend Rigsy, find themselves in a magical alien world, hidden on a street in the heart of London.

Sheltered within are some of the most fearsome creatures of the universe… and Ashildr! With a death sentence hanging over their heads, not all of the intruders will get out alive.

Given the announcement of Jenna's departure and all the heavy foreshadowing, I think we'll definitely see a dead Clara.

"The Mirror", who were spot on with every other Series 9 related story they ran this year confirmed this ages ago.

The only real question is which of Moffat's many definitions of "dead" will apply in this case ;)

Well, Clara herself may very well end up staying dead, what with the scene in the finale with the Doctor playing a sad song about her on his guitar for Oswin.

But of course, there's Clara splinters all over time and space, meaning a part of Clara will live on for all eternity. And this leaves the door open for Jenna Coleman to someday return since not all the splinters need die at the same age. Indeed, a novel has already featured an elderly Clara splinter.
