Why was there no Mirror Universe VOY episode?

More Evil Janeway needed!

going by the timeline, the alpha quadrant was at war during the time Janeway would have taken command of Voyager...

it's doubtful the Terran Empire could have created a ship like Voyager when they had the Klingon / Cardassian alliance to contend with... there isn't a huge amount of info about that time period in the mirror universe, but with what we saw on Deep Space Nine in the mirror episodes, i find it unlikely that bothering with science / research vessels would have been anywhere near the top of the Terran Empire's concerns lol

It's likely that Janeway or most of her crew were dead anyway in the Klingon / Cardassian alliance war... if not, they were too busy fighting the alliance for their lives to make it to the badlands to be swept away by the caretaker...

I guess there was no Mirror Voyager because no idea came up, or perhaps did but was not worthy enough to make an episode.

Well if we go buy what we witnessed of the MU in DSN, there was no Terran Empire, hence no ISS Voyager. Therfore given VOY's predicament it would have been hard to do a convincining MU story.

"Anything that can happen, does happen, in alternate quantum realities" - Data, "Parallels"

The novels gave us the excellent Dark Mirror, where we visit an Enterprise-D from a mirror universe where the Empire never fell. A similar story could have been told in Voyager. Janeway vs. a "Living Witness" -style Mirror!Janeway would have been lots and lots of fun.

A shame they never did one, as it would have been glorious. Imagine Janeway and 7of9 as mirror univese characters! Niice.

As has already been said, Living Witness is essentially a Mirror Universe episode in everything but name - just using a different device to portray well-known characters in a vastly different light.

DS9 had already made the MU a cartoonish parody of itself, we just wouldn't be able to take it seriously if they did a MU episode on Voyager.

Hard to take something that is already ridiculously stupid from the ground up and "make it a cartoonish parody."

I'm glad there were no Mirror eps on VOY.

EDIT:

What was so ridiculous about it?
I just found the entire idea silly. So there's an alternate dimension where everyone good is evil, Starfleet maintains discipline with "agony booths" and other such stupidity, and Spock has a goatee.

The whole thing WAS a "cartoonish parody", right from the start, and a really bad one at that. The DS9 eps didn't help (nor did ENT's "Everyone Backstabs Everyone At All Times: The Episode" contribution), but it was no more or less stupid than "Mirror, Mirror."

The Mirror Universe was supposed to be a dark reflection of the Star Trek Universe in TOS.

DS9 took the line in the TOS that the Terran Empire was going to be ultimately overthrown and accelerated it so that it happened much faster thanks to Kirk's influence.

Doubtful that there was a Intrepid-class starship Voyager in the Mirror Universe, IMO.

If we didn't know what we now know about Voyager's MU counterparts, I suppose the 'mirror Voyager' could have been an Alliance slave ship, probably with B'Elanna or Seska in command. Tuvok obviously couldn't be there, but most of the rest of them could.

That would have been quite interesting.

I never thought any of the MU eps were as good as the TOS one which had a clash of philosophies, action and drama.
