Why no Star Trek mockbuster/rip-off?

Having recently endured "AvH: Aliens vs. Hunter", I was wondering why Asylum haven't done a Star Trek 'mockbuster' yet? It would be awesome(-ly terrible)!!

Here's a list of the film rip-off's they have done:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Asylum

I actually thought their "I Am Omega" was as good as "I Am Legend". Although most of their other films are unwatchably bad, I would love to see them tackle Star Trek. Imagine "Cadet Kurt", helped by "Mr. Trock" and "Lt. Aurora" saving the universe from evil "Gromulans" from the future.

It might give Phase II's "Origins" some competition.

Asylum didn't do one, but a smaller outfit - Halcyon distributors - did:

It's an obvious Trek knock-off with a similar title and was released in the spring.

No license from Paramount = lots of money for lawyers. I do realise that studios are in it for the money, but the way trek fans (myself included) would react probably keeps then from allowing such a thing. Too much.

^ That hasn't stopped them before. When Terminator Salvation came out despite an injunction the Asylum released a film called The Terminators. They were also sued over The Day the Earth Stopped (their ripoff of The Day the Earth Stood Still) and they continue to release these films.

There was a ripoff: a porno.

That actually seems like a combination of Andromeda and Stargate Universe.

As for the oringinal question, isn't Trek XI basically a "mockbuster" of the Star Trek franchise?

Don't forget TransMorphers!

They don't receive the kind of hate The Asylum gets though. Although going to Halcyon's web site, they seem to have removed the trailers (and all trace) of The Black Knight Returns and Metal Man.

But one of them is on YouTube:

Stargate
is already a Star Trek ripoff and I've blocked Andromeda from my mind. That's definitely aimed at Star Trek. The music at the beginning is too close to Trek XI and the font treatment at the end...ha ha! I thought you could copyright typefaces?
