Why is Captain Robau so popular?

Are the sombrero's a racist meme?

Just wondering what has happened to trek fandom in the last few decades...

The only thing that disappointed me about bad ass Robau was the lack of scene post impaling showing him impaling himself further and then giving Nero the finger. And then falling on the first officer impaling him as well.

And then, taking two people with him over a railing-less catwalk.

Oh get real. Of course it isn't - it's a joke based on a joke about the fact that the Enterprise is shaped like a sombrero.

(well, that and a whole pile of other stuff - go read the first few pages of the Blue Warp Nacelles thread)

Remember in QPid when Troi shoots Data with an arrow. That's what happened to Robau. He just raised his left hand and started moving his fingers. "All systems functional, Nero."

So, how come we are not calling him "Pete" yet? In the novel, his name is Captain Pierre Robau.

Robau is SO BADASS he forced the publishers to get his name wrong. He doesn't like his real name Richard.

So is Faran Tahir aware fo these threads? I'd love to hear his response...and especially video if he were to go a to Trek convention.

a Trekmovie.com interviewer asked him if he knew of the meme at the LA premiere. he laughed and said he'd have to check it out.

You're kidding? That is so cool. Of course, I expect he was slowly backing away from the interviewer with a fixed grin on his face at the time...

He's popular because he's more badass than Batman crossed with Bad, Bad LeRoy Brown, dammit.

Robau forgives your heresy. This time.:shifty:
