As I recall, Dayton3 didn’t actually like Destiny for some reason, though I can’t remember what his issues with it were.
It wasn't as 'epic' as he would have liked it:

I remember at one point when he lamented that no Star Trek author had written a Trek novel featuring an all-male crew.
I think he was actually banned, right?
And in the process contradicting the strongest Christian value of all: universal love and acceptance. It never ceases to amaze and horrify me that so many of the people who are the most vocal about declaring themselves to be Christian are going against the most central of Christ's teachings.an all-male, all-white, all-American crew with strong Christian values
That’s what I thought I remembered: that it wasn’t “kewl” enough for him. I had my own issues with Destiny, but they definitely weren’t along those lines. It wasn't as 'epic' as he would have liked it:

Not really sure how many details it's appropriate to reveal in this thread, but as to "what happened after that" well, that itself caused some controversy around here a few years back.I guess you can call it morbid curiosity but I wonder now what Dayton3's last post was and what happened after that.
Yes, as indicated by the line that's now through his name.I think he was actually banned, right?
Ah, yes...I had forgotten that particular rant of his.Oh, he was THAT guy? The guy who once posted a manifesto on why we needed at least one STAR TREK series that featured an all-male, all-white, all-American crew with strong Christian values -- to balance all that annoying "PC" diversity in the other shows? As I recall, that was . . . something.
Heh, it's not just you, though. Lightly amused at the number of authors explaining why we don't need a Big Borg Invasion Story, either! Not only that, but someone also liked a post of mine from the first page (which, um, didn't age well). I was so confused when I saw the notification.

In an attempt to make the thread closer to original topic, now that the Star Trek universe has been "reset" through Lower Decks and Picard, it will be interesting to see if and when the Borg pop up in books again, after being away for a decade.
But I suspect the tie-ins will wait for now to see what the current shows do with the Borg, if anything. If they do come back in some form in the shows then maybe books will use the Borg again.
All those old Star Trek debates I missed out on. I would have loved to have had a place to debate Enterprise when it was actually on the air, or Star Trek (2009) when it was still brand new. Or comment about the novels over the last 20 years when they were still new.
That's actually exactly what Dayton3 ended up doing. Is that effective. I mean, couldn't you just sign up under a different e-mail address and user name? Though if you did do that I imagine you'd have to be careful and behave yourself or you'd just give yourself away (hard for those who misbehave to do I would imagine).
Thank you.Its a trilogy where the entire Bog race invades the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, trying to destroy or conquer everyone.
It's the "big movie" of Star Trek's novelverse.
It's also the last big Borg story.
Because they're wiped out in the end.
