Let the Necromancy commence! The word is… given.
In the IDW comic Reflections, Spock comes to Veridian III and disinters it and takes it back to Iowa and buried Kirk on his family's farm.Even when watching Generations all those years ago, I never believed that Starfleet was just going to leave Kirk's body there. What I wondered about was Picard lugging Kirk's body all the way back up to the top of that outcropping and then finding the smaller stones to actually cover the body up with.
That's what fans said they wanted. Needed to see all the tiny little details.Kirk was there as a fanwank Easter egg, much like every aspect of Picard Season 3.
Should've shown Paul Wesley's face behind the door to really rile up the fanbase.
A Quality of Mercy (first episode with Wesley as Kirk in SNW) aired Jul 7, 2022.Don’t think he’d been cast yet, but it is a funny thought.

So the reason for Daystrom Institute having Kirk's body is... kink?

Picard S3 started airing Feb 16, 2023.
are you saying what i... ewwSo the reason for Daystrom Institute having Kirk's body is... kink?
I'm seeing both were late 2021 - early 2022. So using old Kirk makes a lot of sense. What if SNW never gets released? The filming dates, when available, are the smarter way to go.However, Picard S3 was filmed in 2021.
True, but Veridian IV was inhabited by a pre-industrial humanoid civilization. Eventually they might travel to the planet and find Kirk's body. There are no locals. Data states that Veridian III is uninhabited.

Ferengi might go there to see if the infamous James t. Kirk was buried with anything of value (we know he wasn't, but they always think there is hidden goods).
Maybe he's the only known time traveler to use the Nexus for such, & they're studying his remains?
