Why are Cameron and Chase still in House?

...surely taking on challenging roles is more important than getting paid lots of money for doing very little.

Some actors look at their careers as just that...a career. It has very little to do with artistic expression but is more something that they stumbled into that is very financially lucrative.

I mean, I have a hard time believing that most career soap opera actors are in it for the artistic expression. Sure, maybe a lot of them just aren't good and that's the best they can get, but I know a lot of them stumbled into it and just love the money. How else could you be happy playing the same character for 30 years?

We also got to consider Morrison and British guy might have been doing movies this year or something and the producers allowed them to do it because they were bringing in new characters to the show.

Not just might have. Jennifer Morrison has a significant role in the new Star Trek movie, playing Jim Kirk's mother in flashbacks.

Supposedly next season they are going to have a bigger role. I would guess that they have their own team and work against House.

I don't know why they keep Chase around, but Cameron still seems to be used as a romantic interest for House. They keep dancing around each other this season, which I think is just a repeat of what was done in 1-3. But there's still potential for her character.

I'm actually thinking House may turn to her after he (probably will) alienate Wilson and just about everyone else close to him. She's the only person who has consistently hung around him despite his Houseishness, so we'll see.

Yeah, they sound quite similar to each other too, however the Kiwi relation to the Aussie accent is what sets it apart from a SA accent to me. Which is a problem I guess if you can't distinguish an Aussie accent anyway

Well we don't know the accents, but then can anyone distinguis a west Louisnana accent from an east Texan? Just saying if we didn't see House on Entertainment Tonight would we know.

^ If I listened to them side by side yes. What I am saying is that I have had americans comment to me that they sound the same to them, not that they don't know the accents. That may not be true of everyone, but i'm just going on conversations I have had.

I could see them doing something like that.

I doubt that'll happen considering a couple of episodes ago she said that she missed working out the puzzles but she did not miss House.

yes I find this odd as well, they just arnt getting the screentime they got in the first season, granted there is a reason for that, I just find it odd FOX is paying them as regulars yet is getting so little work out of them.

come next season (if it were up to me) I would certainly ditch one of them.

FOX is paying them because they have contracts. Even if they broke the contracts and canned them, FOX would still end up paying them.

I've found that a lot of Americans have a hard time telling the difference between English people and Australians.

Let's see... Aussies are just the criminals of Britain so I wonder why no one can tell the difference.

To quote a friend of mine, are you for real??? I'm going to assume this was a joke and suggest we move on.

Much as I like them as characters, I don't think losing Cameron and Chase would be a huge detriment to the show. I kind of like the idea of the new doclings being in the spotlight. Foreman still has a purpose on the show, but the others don't really. Though if their roles get amped up next year, that's cool.

Chase, unlike Cameron, is actually serving some plot purpose; rather than House barging in on Random Doctor #2 before cutting the patient open to perform an operation it turns out they don't need, House gets to barge in on Chase. :D
