I think pretty much NONE of the old TNG crew would say no to appearing...I can´t even see Spiner saying "no"..but I guess he would appear as B4 or another of the seemingly endless number of his fathers relatives ;-) I`m offically going to eat Gagh if Crusher doesn´t appear though....

What's more interesting that who is HOW.

I rewatched some of TNG this weekend and nature of the show (limited character development, slow pace) means that even if we see a Riker or a Crusher that the characters will have to be reconceptualised a bit to fit modern TV norms - they are literally cardboard cutouts compared to how we see modern characters develop.

I hope Beverly appears. She was seriously shortchanged in the TNG movies and I think she's an important part of Picard's character.

I would like to finally find out why Picard and Guinan are so close. I don't feel that was ever explored to my satisfaction despite Time's Arrow.

I'd love to see Picard and Q back together for the acting alone. They were always great together.

Obviously I'd love to see the whole main cast of TNG at some point but I'd be hoping for Riker, Troi, Beverly and Data the most. I feel Worf would be better served in a DS9 revival (not that I wouldnt be overjoyed to see him anyway) and I never particularly cared about Geordi.

Maybe not a popular opinion but I'd love to see Wesley again. What became of his life and what's his relationship with Picard like now?

I could make a case for most of the TNG characters appearing. I certainly wouldn't mind an appearance from Admiral Janeway either.

Q might age his appearance for no reason other than to taunt Picard for his advancing age.
They could have him appear as a creepy CG version of his 1987 self for 10 seconds, say "Ageing? Is this what we're doing now?" flick his fingers and become current-day DeLancie just as easily as he switched uniforms in Deep Space Nine.

He might change his mind but I saw an interview where he said he was 'tired' of Q.

Admittedly from 1996, but he would've been more tired 2 years after the series ended than now, unless those few appearances in DS9 and VOY were that tiring.

It was in 2009:

Uh, no. I have to say as the years have gone on I’m getting a little tired of just Q, because I do a lot of other things. Almost everywhere in the world you go, people will come up and say, "Oh my God you’re from Star Trek." But I was in Syria recently, and I had people stop me on the street, they came up to me and said, "Oh my God, we just saw Breaking Bad." That was a surprise. And it was great.

In the movies we begin to see a different side of Picard. Perhaps owing to his age he is seen to be more adventurous, willing to take more personal risks.

But he doesn't cross the line of legitimacy.

In the last episode of TNG we find out that he later marries Beverly, the series Picard held Beverly at a distance romantically.

There's no reason to believe the future as seen in AGT actually occurs. Chalk it up to a Q-generated fantasy.

People change with time.

And sometimes change back.

But not as much as you're suggesting.

Yes. So instead, everybody who comes back will be deeply troubled and angst-y like contemporary TV characters.

Nobody needs to be angst but TNG is so slow and stagey compared to modern TV that if anyone thinks they are going to get TNG 2.0 they are going to be mistaken. At the very least I'd expect it to be a serial with an overarching narrative not simply "watch in any order". You cannot sustain that with character who do not change or alter.

Sirtis might appear, I have no doubt Frakes, Burton and Dorn would. McFadden might. And even Wheaton said that this is the only Trek he might consider coming back for.

DeLancie and Spiner won't.

They may have Crusher married to Picard. But I reckon, they'll do what TNG did initially and sharply curtail references to the predecessor show. A low key cameo from an oldie but otherwise Picard and a whole slate of new characters, new stories, new dilemmas ruling the roost.

I'm not gonna hold my breathe for many (if any) cameos from non-TNG characters. However if they do decide to throw a few in...

Kathryn Janeway would seem like a pretty easy one to do. They could easily give her a Nemesis-style cameo and have her show up just long enough to deliver a message from Starfleet Command or something, and it could be a little bit of extra hype bringing back one of the other captains (who just so happens to now be an Emmy nominated actress) even if it's just for a brief appearance.

Seven of Nine would make sense if they decide to do anything related to the Borg in the new show (she could show up as Starfleet's chief Borg advisor...or whatever position they would have given her after returning to the alpha quadrant). She's a notable enough character in the overall Trek mythos that I could see TPTB wanting her to make an appearance. Who knows if Jeri Ryan would be up for it though (didn't she decline a cameo in Nemesis?).

If the new show has anything to do with Starfleet Academy, Miles O'Brien would be another easy one, since we last saw him in the DS9 finale accepting a position teaching there.

Those are the 3 that immediately pop into my mind when it comes to non-TNG characters appearing in the new show. However, depending on what the new show is actually *about*, they could theoretically make an appearance by just about any character work. Personally I'd love to see Nana Visitor reprise the role of Kira once more, since she's probably one of my all-time favorite Trek characters ever. But I feel like having her show up on a Picard-centric Trek series would just be so completely out-of-left-field that I don't see it happening.
