Who would you want to play the captain in Trek series 6

... or Robert Patrick as the stoic strong leader.
I've seen Robert Patrick in several different productions and he has a talent with accents.

Perhaps he could play a Captain of British descent, who mysteriously possesses a French accent?

:)

Lol, now then what is the equivalent of "Jean-Luc Picard" in old english? "Sir Timothy Wellington", speaking perfect Parisian of course.

In all seriousness I think a British accent captures that stoic, leaderlike quality. French? Condescending, insulting and contentious. German? Technical and domineering. Russian? Depressing and negative. I think the next captain might as well have a Spainish(Spain) accent! Besides the British, one could argue that the Spanish have the most illustrious naval history, both exploratorily and militarily. Who best then to represent humanity on the final frontier than an eloquent, classly Spaniard?

Just scanned the thread and don't think ive seen Jada Pinkett Smith's name mentioned.

She would be perfect because i think she desperately wants to get her teeth stuck into something substantial and she would bring so much conviction to the role. Plus she's a tough girl and could convincingly kick butt. She's also got beautiful green hazel eyes which look great on screen. I think she could bring forth alot of character to the show. She'd be great. Plus "woman can drive" as we seen her as Niobe in the matrix. She's 40 yrs old now, a great age i think for a youngish captain. If the series is 5 yrs off she'd be 45.

With her being a young black female captain pushes the envelope again and with her street attitude she can bring a new tougher dimension to the captain role.

Robert Patrick would be cool:bolian: I also thought maybe Kelsy Grammer. He is a big name Trek fan who might make a good Captain? I remember him doing a bit role once before?

Just some thoughts:

Hugh Laurie (with British accent): More of the thoughtful Captain
Liev Schreiber: One of my favorite actors and could bring a bad ass quality to the role
Piper Perabo: Could be an interesting choice as Captain or the ship's First Officer
Sendhil Ramamurthy: Could be a good choice as Captain

Just a few ideas...

Yancy

Ron Perlman..Captain
First officer.........ken watanabe
Chief engineer........Beau Bridges
security chief.......... Michael Clarce duncan
Communications officer.....Gigi Edgley
MACO Detachment CO.......Adam Baldwin

Someone older, a great actor, believable as an authoritarian, preferably with a prior connection to the sci-fi genre.

Sigourney Weaver.
