Who would you want to play the captain in Trek series 6

Gillian Anderson as the captain
Hugh Laurie as the chief engineer
Ian McKellan as the doctor
Matthew Fox as the chief of security
Ian Holm as science chief

Hugh Laurie, looking like, "This scowl is such a PIG, that she could blow at any second:
however, I am so blitzed that I could not care less."

And Gillian Anderson, all, "I am so not amused... not even slightly."

:guffaw:

Brilliant, Python Trek! All of them.

...Thanks! ...and in season 2, Ian Holm would turn out to be an android! :)

How about Rush Limbaugh himself?

No evil force in the universe could defeat him of course. For that reason the movie might not have much suspense.

:)

If you mean the radio talk show "Rush Limbaugh" ...with his 1st officer, Mr. Snerdly. - I would never miss that one! (probably not the trekbbs.com one either:))

Okay, for suspense - give him Al Franken, Hillary Clinton, and Michal Moore, who have infiltrated his crew! ...Unless he just treats them the way TOS did the tribbles. ...that would be all too easy?

So, they would need to have transporter immunity:p for ongoing suspense.

Chuck would have to be a Klingon due to his beard and Steven could only play as a Vulcan because that's pretty much the extent of his acting abilities.
How about Bruce Willis? :)

You know it...

And I know it.

--With Madame Huffington and Lord Olbermann thrown in for good measure, of course.

Of course, the episode ends with Rushbo, Michael Savage, and Howard Stern all binding together to laugh it off, just like in "Day Of The Dove"....

Okay, enough of all that.

How about Bruce Willis? :)

Being serious now, I think these would be good choices (in no particular order):

Adam Baldwin,
Hugh Jackman,
Ewan McGregor,
Daniel Craig,
David Tennant,
Matt Smith,
Damien Lewis,
Ioan Gruffud,
Clive Owen,
Gerrard Butler,
Domonic West,
Lance Reddick,
Gillian Anderson,
Angela Basset,
Bruce Willis

You know, I'd love someone like Michael Emerson as the next captain. Rather than filling some previously established mold, they should just go with an offbeat choice who happens to be fantastic and interesting actor.

They'd need to make the role of the captain a more fundamentally interesting part than it has been in the past, anyway. Approaching the role from an entirely different angle would be a good start.

How about Bruce Willis?

Too iconic, too perfect. Not incompetent enough to suspend any disbelief that he is out there, in the stellar trenches.

He would get booted upstairs to a desk job too fast. And then we would be forced to endure him as yet another Starfleet admiral: making out reports while projecting a constant stream of wise-acre quips; making high level command decisions about granulated protein ship's mess allocations, while sporting that cocky, ever-present smirk; or displaying that virtually masterful slow burn as he calls some ensign on the carpet for accidentally serving Cafe mocha to the entire Vulcan ambassadorial delegation! ;)

But then, on second thought, Brucey could very well make that interesting.

Hm-m-m-m?

Way beyond rest of the "Lost cast". When you watch him on screen, you know that he is obviously classically trained, while very few people on TV actually are. Now, he has possibilities.
He could halt a Borg invasion by simply using, that dangerously crazy look!

no offence guys but the white human male stereotype is getting old. at least make the captain a woman or an alien. you know what would be perfect? politically correct ST series FTW! a black alien lesbian.

I LIKE THIS IDEA! :)

Okay! An entirly female crew! Whom would we cast, and as what alien species?

Camryn Manheim, as a tough, but motherly, Klingon Captain

Betty White, as the ship's unlovable (species?), though eccentric CMO

Evangeline Lilly, as the highly troubled Andorian 1st officer

lol. you do know that i was kidding? but seroiusly now. ds9 and voyager wason the right track but we need more variance in the next series. as some of you may know i'm a strong supporter of a star trek: aventine series. (star trek destiny)

I'd definitely like to see Yvonne Strahovski in command.

Maybe in a Starfleet Intelligence spy-type series. There would be room for Adam Baldwin and Zachary Levi as well, of course. Okay, now I'm just imagining some sort of crazy Chuck/Star Trek mashup thing. *shrugs* Might be fun though.

I AM SERIOUS!!! :) I LIKE THIS IDEA!

Why not, a black alien lesbian??? Just because I am a pure blooded human, of mostly north European origin, and as plain/boring strait as can be, why should I not like a show like that? It is not rIDICulous. It sounds great! :D
