Who was the being from the Future?

Daniels is Future Guy. Daniels, the worst temporal agent ever. This guy's made more mishaps than Wile E. Coyote. Using Archer as an ACME tool he invites disaster upon himself every occasion he tries to catch Silik or Vosk.

As a devoted Looney Tunes fan, I really laughed a lot at this! Never thought of Daniels this way.

Discovery’s viewscreen is consistent with the viewscreen of the USS Kelvin. But the bridge is way too big for its time.

The forcefield for the shuttlebay is consistent with the Miranda class and Soyuz class, confirming it was a 23rd century trend.

The lack of food cards for the food processor seen during TOS, and existence of the holocommunicator was advanced for its time. But maybe Starfleet was more technically advance at that time then we were led to believe. Didn’t they have clothing transporters built into sonic showers in TMP that we never saw again, that Ilia used?

As for the interior of the USS Enterprise…maybe Kirk liked the retro style more and saw the update to the bridge unnecessarily dark. While Pike just ripped out the holocommunicator, Kirk ripped out the entire bridge design, and replaced the nacelles.

And as for the timeline being restored, Daniels was a con man, as far as I'm concerned. Otherwise, Archer and his crew would have vanished when the TCW ended and the timeline "reset" itself, since the NX-01 was supposed to be destroyed in its first year.

You know, at some point a prequel should at least try to make the world fit with TOS. If it ignores its own history then it's re-writing it and doesn't respect the hard work done that made this franchise iconic. I would like to think as a fan of TOS, Future Guy wanted continuity restored and if this person was like myself who strongly believes ENT, DISCO, PICARD, The PIKE SHOW is stylistically, dramatically written WRONG.

That could have potential. He screwed up a couple of times, and maybe at some "future" point he became jaded and started manipulating events.

Its a great symmetry..... who else would the meddling time agent be battling?

I just mentioned Lazarus, but the thought "Evil Leaper" just came to mind as well.

One trying to thwart the other's plans, back and forth, scheming against each other, opposing end-goals in mind. One from a timeline with the Federation; One from a timeline without.

But please, for all that is good and holy in the world, write it better than "The Alternative Factor."
