Who should become the next Doctor after Whittaker?

Peter Dinklage

He would be great in the role. His brand of humor would be more sarcastic than others but I would enjoy it. One issue though in regards to his size is would this impact things that are common with the Doctor such as running? I know some smaller people have health issues and can't do things like that. I don't know what things are like though with Dinklage.

I want Idris Elba for James Bond, but not for the Doctor. He seems to gruff and tough in all of his roles, even though he can be a lot of fun to watch.

Chiwetel Ejiofor
Simon Baker
Lupita Nyong'o
Riz Ahmed
Benedict Wong
Harriet Walter (going purely off of her one snarky line in The Force Awakens)

Alexander Siddig

Kris Marshall

Sam Troughton

Domhnall Gleeson

Ben Whishaw

Jason Flemyng

Gwendoline Christie

Ruth Wilson

Ruth Negga

First, ths Doctor must be British (and this is coming from a North American). Otherwise he/she would not really be the doctor. The show is quintessential British. It is not North American. I'm for more women or other ethnic immigrant group members. I also would LOVE to see my all time favorite actor, namely Patrick Stewart, though that will never happen.

Am I the only one who finds this thread kinda disrespectfull? Imagine you starting in a new job..nobody has seen any of your work results yet..but people are already speculating who might get the job after you.. I would be so annoyed, pissed and oh...not really that motivated anymore to do my best.

I agree with you. I hope she lasts as long as Tom Baker. I am also really looking forward to a new interpretation of the doctor by a woman. But it is hard not to join future speculation.

Considering how long the wait is until Series 11, and how little else there is to talk about, this isn't so bad.

Regarding disrespect towards Whitaker, this is barely a blip at the level of disrespect that was tossed her way for just being a woman taking a job.

We are just going off the old formula that whether she is good or bad she will leave after 3 or 4 years. Like the American President, no matter who has the job people will always being to wonder who the next one will be. Gossip is quite normal behavior.

I want to see the guy who played the Doctor Moon from -Library.

Then Dinklage

It should be, either someone that none of us have ever heard of, or, either Kathryn Drysdale, or Katherine Parkinson.

Drysdale could continue the tradition of a guest role before the big part.
