Spoilers Who is the mastermind in Season 3 of Picard?

On a personal note, I want it to be the aliens from conspiracy. My dad and I waited 7 seasons and all the movies for them to come back lol

Picture this, Jack walks into the ready room and they are all eating worms from a bowl. Riker and Picard have to shoot Shaw until his head implodes. Wild! Fascinating!

Or Groppler Zorn just because he is in the first episode. Angry at being left tortured. Driven mad by disappearing/reappearing apples.

But I think it will be the Borg. Which is fine by me if they are made terrifying again in some way. Don’t know how. Just intense like they were once upon a time.

Not sure why anyone thinks it CAN be the Borg. Nothing floating head guy has done screams Borg tactics. I mentioned in another thread Picard's log from BOBW played in the first episode of season three might be a clue. He questions why the Borg have any special interest in him. Maybe the Borg were aware of what Picard could potentially do with telepathically linking to other people, and were set to exploit that. It's really the only Borg connection I can think of, but I believe whatever the Irumodic Syndrome is in him and Jack, and floating head guy's interest belongs to another foe.

Masks. Korgano. When Picard put on that mask Korgano imprinted himself onto Picard, and this passed onto Jack. Jack's hearing the voices of the entire civilization that inhabited Data in Masks.

I was just thinking this myself...what if the villain is somebody right under our nose?

There was a point in the last episode where Riker looks at Troi in the prison cell with almost a perplexed look, like she wasn't answering the questions the way he expected. I still think Troi is not Troi

That might explain why Troi knew about the door in Jack's visions - Vadic did though and presumably her handler too, given the handler wanted Jack.

Troi has never been a strong telepath able to see other peoples' thoughts after all. How did she know the content of his visions?

I think Troi is Troi, but I don't think Beverly is Beverly.

Feels like she is intentionally leading him towards the red door to open it to learn of the secrets inside.
