I think the more important question from this scene is who the blonde is in the blue uniform. I'm not srue if she's in the picture posted above (it could be the profile face on the right) but if you watch the scene, there is a petite blonde girl who kicks serious ass during the fight!

Puh-leeze don't associate me w/ those people. I'm an old fogey who was seriously underwhelmed w/ the new movie, and proud to admit it.

Maybe this kid is a winner of some kind of contest, probably a radio or comic book contest, in which he gets to "Be in a scene with a Star Trek TNG main character!"

Good answer! They actually had such a contest in the 1st season, and the winner was in "When the Bough Breaks."
