I don't hear many talk of this wonderfully done sci fi mystery from TNG's fourth year.
So who else likes it?

They may have been able to erase the onboard evidence of the passage of time, but as soon as they contacted the nearest starbase, they would've noticed that their clocks were 48 hours out of sync with the rest of the Federation, and that would've gotten them investigating all over again.
I like this episode and you're right, this is one of the best scenes in it.kitsune said:
It was a good episode. My favorite parts were the Data-Picard interrogation and the moment of Picard's realization that someone ordered Data not to divulge the truth.
And you're right as well Christopher, but I got caught up in the episode when it aired and I didn't think about that until much later. And I'm glad that my mind waited. Of course now, every time I see it I'm cognizant of that issue and have to invoke the Power of Disbelief.Christopher said:
Also it didn't really make sense. Well Data did originally explain to the crew the first time they awakened from the stun that the wormhole threw them ahead a day in time and some distance from their previous position. So I don't see why we shouldn't assume that Data will state that the wormhole threw them 48 hours into the future.Christopher said:

If the writers had thrown in something about Data claiming the "wormhole" had jumped them forward in time two days, that could've barely explained it. But as it stands, it's a massive logic hole in the episode.
