Who else likes Clues?

I thought it was pretty cool, I liked how the little things in the crews' lives were shown, like Dr. Crusher's experiment. The title "Clues" was very apt, and it was a fun mystery throughout.

Love it, and my Trekkie sister does, too. It's one of our favorite episodes, and I even have the Picard as Dixon Hill / Guinan as Gloria action figures that Playmates made a long, long time ago.

Yeah I have that two pack figure set as well with the cardboard background of his office door.

TNG did produce probably the best sci fi mysteries out of all the series imo.

It was a good episode. My favorite parts were the Data-Picard interrogation and the moment of Picard's realization that someone ordered Data not to divulge the truth.

Good solid episode. I liked how they basically had to second guess themselves, and figure out how to outsmart themselves so as not to ruin the plan. Nice bit.

It's interesting, but it's always bothered me, because it basically promotes the idea that it's acceptable to bury the truth and turn one's back on the search for knowledge, and that's anathema to what Star Trek is supposed to be about. They got so caught up in telling their puzzle story that they ended up with a message that wasn't so nice. There are too many people in the world who try to bury truths and erase evidence for self-serving reasons that can be dangerous to others, so I don't much care for a story that says it's okay to cooperate with such people and help them destroy knowledge.

Also it didn't really make sense. They may have been able to erase the onboard evidence of the passage of time, but as soon as they contacted the nearest starbase, they would've noticed that their clocks were 48 hours out of sync with the rest of the Federation, and that would've gotten them investigating all over again. If the writers had thrown in something about Data claiming the "wormhole" had jumped them forward in time two days, that could've barely explained it. But as it stands, it's a massive logic hole in the episode.

I forgot about that problem, but I remember it bugging me as well.

I like this episode and you're right, this is one of the best scenes in it.

And you're right as well Christopher, but I got caught up in the episode when it aired and I didn't think about that until much later. And I'm glad that my mind waited. Of course now, every time I see it I'm cognizant of that issue and have to invoke the Power of Disbelief.

Well Data did originally explain to the crew the first time they awakened from the stun that the wormhole threw them ahead a day in time and some distance from their previous position. So I don't see why we shouldn't assume that Data will state that the wormhole threw them 48 hours into the future.

I really don't see this as a plot hole.

I love this episode. I used to be bugged at how they could rationalize the change in time when they contact someone else. Then I realized that the wormhole through them forward in time.

Its an episode that the suprise is ruined the second time you watch it, but its still enjoyable.

What bugged me was that Picard caved too easily, he just believed that they could destroy him and his ship, he readily agreed to have his crew's minds tampered with. This doesn't fit too well with his character I think. Kirk would not have caved, he would have stood his ground, and talked the aliens out of it.
