Which Superman costume is the best?

Seeing these two images together, Cavill looks so pasty white he could be playing Bizarro to Hoechlin's Superman

Wow Carville looks so pale way paler then Tyler or Brandon or Chris I would say my favorite costume is the iconic Chris reeve one second would be the routh a nice updated look I like Tyler's costume third.

 

Don't worry about it. It's easy to make that mistake.

Agreed on both points--terrible, slapped together costume, and completely miscast actor.

 

I thought he did a good job on Supergirl and the costume looks pretty good though Cavill for me.

When I first saw him, I thought he was totally wrong for the role (despite being tall dark and blandly handsome) but I've really enjoyed his take on the role. Much more fun and light-hearted than Cavill (who has the potential to be a great Superman but is lumbered with a one-dimensional take on it and too little dialogue).

Christopher Reeve could make any costumer work. I guess Henry Cavill's costume is the one I choose since it's without the underwear on the outside.

A Superman costume without the red trunks is just.......wrong.

I, too, wish the Cavill Supersuit had the red trunks. And the yellow belt. I like the darker shade of blue, though.

Even though I voted for Christopher Reeve, I have to disagree that the Cavill suit would have been improved with the addition of the belt and trunks. I think it would have ruined the lines of that design and call attention to just how silly it is (which IMO is pretty much what went wrong with the Routh outfit.)

 

Even apart from the lack of trunks, I put the Snyder suits very low on my personal list. I don't like the "muscle sculpting". The suit comes across a little like a modern bodybuilder during competition*, which isn't a look I care for.

*Oiled up muscles, over-muscled stance, and...little "weeny" area.

 

He's not tall at all (he seems sort of squat); we already know how James towers over him, but he's not much taller than Supergirl. Then, there's the eyebrows and his lack of the strong presence of clarity, honesty and power Reeve & Cavill had by the truckload.
