I selected "Other." I want a series set on the first starship designed, built, and crewed by the newly-minted UFP. How did these different species interact with one another on a new ship, wearing new uniforms, coming from vastly different cultural backgrounds? There would be a few Vulcans as engineering and science advisors but not Starfleet officers. The ship would look a lot like the USS Pioneer from the Fleet Museum in Picard.
If Betazoids are all as fond of chocolate at Troi is, the view at said weddings might not be as pleasant as you think.

Sadly, the lack of costumes would just mean the show would be given less of a budget, rather than having more money to spend on other things due to not needing costumes.
While it’s not specifically what I want, seems to me that instead of doing Year One, the most economic move for a new series would be to keep the SNW sets, but make a show about some entirely different Starfleet ship in roughly the same timeframe as TOS, with entirely new characters, probably doing your basic planet-of-the-week stuff. There doesn’t need to be any high concept beyond that.
Perhaps a more widely-encompassing (Epic?) Series, starting "now-ish" - NASA/SPACE X/BLUE WHATEVER - from the standpoint of our pursuit of technology to actually GET to the stars, and then (fictionally) chronicling our advances and failures through to sometime after Next Generation?
