Which races would you have liked to see more of in Star Trek?

Kurros in "THINK TANK" said they cured the Phage, but I was always dubious about him being truthful. They clearly scanned Voyager and their records and are not above deceit to get what they wanted. (The 'Hazari Paradox' is proof of this.) I always thought it was a way to pique Janeway's interest, because you can see she was just looking around and didn't seem particularly interested in the problems they solved... until he mentioned 'curing the Phage'.

Not to mention the fact the Vidiians were about 40,000 light years away and I doubt they traveled that far in such a short time, considering the reputation they gained in the sector they were in at that time. (The Hazari bounty hunter made it clear they were notorious in that sector.)

And since they were interested in the quantum slipstream, it also points to them not having the ability to travel such a distance quickly. (While other shortcut methods have been shown before, nothing was ever shown that the think tank had the ability to travel such great distances.)

Bottom line, I think the Vidiians might actually have died off by the 32nd century... or at least, lost so many people that they are on the.verge of extinction.

Nah, they had been warp capable for so long, that they probably have lost colonies scattered across the galaxy, including somewhere in UFP's backyard, not gathering attention to the point where Voyager didn't recognize their life signs. If so, many of those colonies may have been phage-free, due to pre-phage separation or something. They don't need to be capable of slipwave warp or transwarp or anything other than the warp drive the D had.

The Ferengi are pretty cool dudes.

Romulans too.

Seeing as Nu-Trek is getting a bit darker and grittier I wouldn't mind seeing the Romulans becoming more, well, kind of sexy... I wouldn't mind a bit of the Game of Thrones treatment or even a bit of 80's Dune Harkonnen spicy over-the-top hedonistic degeneracy.

The Romulans should feel more, free. Dark Eldar-y.

Non-humanoids:
Sheliak
Nasat
Medusans
Edosians
Aurellians
Tholians

Underutilized:
Tellarites
Rigelians (Chelons et al)
Deltans
Bynars
Betazoids
Talarians

Unseen:
Jarada
Legarans
Tzenkethi
Mathenites
Nyberrite Alliance
Barolians

…good opportunity for more non-humanoids.
Adding a few possibilities:

Gorn

Excalbian

Melkot

Malurian

Kinshaya

Good for one story...somebody suggested that a Founder/Changeling, upon infiltrating the Federation, encounters an infiltrator from Species 8472. If Species 8472 wants to exterminate intelligent life in the Milky Way, the two different infiltrators will be in conflict with each other.

Tholians! Let us get to know these crystal space crabs a bit better!

I know we have been getting more Andorians, Aenar and Trill in New Trek, but I can always go for more.

I think my top pick is the Breen. The mystery behind them is ripe for good storytelling.

What races in Star Trek would you have liked to have seen a bit more of and learned about?

For me the Tholians
~ Me, too! They came across as pretty scary and inscrutable in "Future Tense" (well, their ships' behaviour and the hideous screeching over comms) - It was such a shame we didn't get to see more of them in Enterprise. Or maybe that would have ruined the mystique?

I'd like to see more of the Kressari, the "tailheads" and the "vertical-mouthed aliens" (from DS9). I love plants and gardening, so I'm intrigued about the Kressari's trade in botanical DNA - does a lot of their society and/or culture revolve around plants, I wonder? The tailheads have appeared in the background on Lower Decks, and I'm hoping the v-m aliens will too.

It would be nice to see more of Betazoid culture, too. We hardly know anything about them, despite a having series main character, and her flamboyant mother turning up now and again. I know three Betazoids turned up in a recent LDS episode, but I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know how much more of their culture & society was featured.

I started writing this, then realized I’d already answered some pages back. Well here we go anyway:

More non-humanoids: the Sheliak, Tholians, Conspiracy parasites…dare we hope the Tzenkethi and Jarada?

Of the ones we’ve seen, you’d think Federation founding members like the Tellarites and Andorians would get more fleshing out — in interesting ways, not just as aliens of the week. I mean, look at the Vulcans. Also, what are some other early admissions to the Federation?

Also the Tzenkethi and Talarians the Federation fought wars with; let’s learn more about them.

Also Betazoid telepathy and Deltan sexuality have legit been woefully underutilized.

Will I be thrown out of Known Space if I suggest the race that impregnated Troi?
