Which character do you think is likely to die in Star Trek (2013)?

If someone has to die (which they probably don't), I'm going to say:

1. It's (kinda) Star Trek II (since 2009 was a reboot).
2. The Bad guy is (rumored to be) Khan.

I'm going with NuSpock or Spock Prime.

The main cast is signed for 3 movies so I'd be surprised to see any of them bite the dust in this movie. Possibly Chapel or Rand but only if they actually bother to introduce them properly as characters. Sulu is most likely as he seems to be the most superfluous/easily replaceable as the number of interchangeable helmsmen in TNG demonstrates. Cupcake is definitely in their sights.

My own view was that they should have saved Chekov for movie 2 and killed off Gary or Number One to make way for him in the sequel.

In the third movie it's anybody's guess. I find it hard to imagine they would kill any of the main popular characters and as the only woman I think it would be adding insult to sexist injury if they killed Uhura off.

FYI: Chekov was slated for death in TMP when his console exploded! Not sure why they changed their minds.

Woah, you guys do not like Cupcake!

Would they really bring him back in this movie, though? I mean, don't get me wrong. I kinda liked the dude. He was funny and had great chemistry with Pine even in just two scenes. But he was an extra with but a few lines, right?

Absolutely. There was no reason for them to bring Chekov in so early in the franchise.

Scotty, I hope. I can't stand Simon Pegg's performance (if you can call it that - he's just doing his same old schitck.) Scotty deserves better than to be treated as generic comic relief.

Ohura, it's pretty obvious, the actress playing her, is alot older than she looks, and is established as a young, odds are it will end up with some kirk spock ohura love triangle.

The new ohura, has little value as a 40 year old, they won't recast the actor unless their stupid, so the best answer is to kill her off.

The fuck? :vulcan:

Zoe Saldana is 34.
Zachary Quinto is 35.
Chris Pine is 32.
Karl Urban is 40.

Looks like the main cast is all pretty much where they should be, age-wise.

Gee, thanks for spoiling Avengers for me.

Avengers came out 11 days ago in UK and 3 days ago in USA

GET OVER IT...HONEY

Well, I didn't know either. Our son saw it on opening night and hasn't spoiled it for us, knowing we are going to see it. We choose to wait a few weeks hoping the theatre isn't so filled.

Coming from someone who has seen it... If it's any consolation to those who read the avengers spoiler... It really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. I mean did anyone really care about that character? Don't worry, You'll still love the movie.
Plus even if you know the character dies, you may still be surprised and fully entertained by the character's actions and role in the movie... trust me :)

I agree spoiler tags are a must in this situation though.

and their all men, by the time a third star trek movie comes out she will be about 38, in actress terms that is quite old, just compare the oscar awards for best actress versus best actor.

Most women's career really suffer past 40.

Also remember pine is playing an actor that is 25 in 2009, meaning she is suppose to be about the same age.

Saldana is the only one of the four whose age might become a factor. If Uhura joined the Academy at 18, then we're looking at her being 21 at the end of the first film. Depending on how the stories are spaced out, we may have a nearly forty year old actress playing a 21 year old character by the time it's all said and done.

But who said she joined when she was 18? Given that she was graduating with the rank of Lietenant, and according to her dossier on the Official Movie web site that she know over 80% of the languages in the Federation and was the Academy Aid in 2 different departments, it seems likely that she was a grad student. . .why do people seem to think that Star Fleet Academy is just like college? You'd think that they'd be more like NASA. . . mostly Masters and Ph.D.s
