Which character do you think is likely to die in Star Trek (2013)?

serenitytrek1

Commander
If JJ Abrams and his crew decides to kill of any character in the upcoming film who will it or should it be and why?

They could...sometimes a character death could advance the story or make the story more realistic, dark and gritty

Jean Grey in x men 2, Anakin’s mum in attack of the clones, Snape in Deathly Hallows 2, and agent Colson in the avengers were perfect examples.

sorry to be mean but yes the public knows about the avengers plotline...there is no point of saying its a spoiler when everyone already knows how the movie went.

I didnt and Mage didn't and junxon didn't.... not everyone saw the movie on opening day or read spoilers online. Some just haven't gotten around to it, yet.

Months later, fine. No biggie. But 11 days is way too soon without using spoiler tags (they're in the advanced options, just highlight the text and press the spoiler button - it hides the text behind a button like....

And, as for the original question, I really hope they don't kill anyone off just yet. Especially not Spock Prime or Pike, if they're in it.

No everyone one doesn't know how it went. I have not seen it here. The rule on this board is to use the spoiler tag.

Yea, 3 days after release, in a thread marked as spoilers for the movie, you know what you're getting into if you haven't seen the movie and go into the thread. On the open board, it should definitely be spoiler tagged and not blurted out.

Gee, thanks for spoiling Avengers for me.

Avengers came out 11 days ago in UK and 3 days ago in USA

That's not the way it works here.

This is:

If a movie has been out for less than one year, it is considered common courtesy to those who may not have watched it yet to avoid casually giving away plot elements. Please place such plot details inside spoiler tags thus:

HTML:
The spoiler itself goes here
If you click on the 'Spoilers' button (
spoiler.gif
) found at the upper right of the Reply box, you will be prompted when to enter the description and spoiler info.

This way, people are allowed to choose for themselves - either to click and read the spoiler or not to click and so remain unspoiled. When you just throw it out there without warning, you've taken away that choice.

One more thing:
GET OVER IT...HONEY
You might want to consider dialing the attitude back a bit until you've learned your way around a little better.

As to the question asked in the opening post: I don't know enough about the story at this point even to guess, so I think I'll just wait and see. :)

SerenityTrek1, I understand and respect the fact that you are new on the board. But being new, I would think that you would be sensitive to not create unnecessary conflict and when such conflict is made known that you would choose to be graceful enough to say something other than "get over it".

I understand that you feel a short number of days is enough time to to leak out spoilers. What I think you fail to consider is that you are posting in an international forum, the film has been open for just 72 hours here, I myself only saw this yesterday. For you to maintain that this does not matter-goes well beyond rude.

Finally, your spoiler was not even necessary, you might have simply said: "the sudden death of a secondary character".

I welcome you to the board. But please keep the rules and general courteous in mind.

OT - I don't think anyone will die.

Back on topic: I really don't think any main character will die. However, given the fact that the writers destroyed Vulcan and Spock's mother died in the first movie, I think anything is possible. But maybe not likely.

if they kill off scotty in some heroic fashion he might be saved from being the tedious comedy character he's become

Probably Khan or old Spock. I don't see any other main character dying though I suppose Alice Eve's character could always die especially if she's Kirk's love interest.
