Where's the brig?

Loved the movie and the new direction. Loved the massive scale of the Enterprise. My only question (well not the only one) is where the hell is the brig?

Why was Kirk not put in the brig by Spock? Surely Starfleet doesn't condone "Spacing"!!!!

True. But later on Spock thanked McCoy for backing his decision. Seems like no one really spoke up.

he didnt space him.
there is a message playing in the pod that the starfleet personal would along to
get him that the planet was dangerous.
part of it spock was emotionally unsettled due to the death of his fellow vulcans and especially watching him mother die in front of him.,

i also suspect that spock didnt trust kirk to stay in the brig. if he could reprogram the koybashi maru he might be able to break out of a brig.

The brig was still under construction, since the Enterprise was supposed to be going on a rescue mission for it's maiden voyage... or since Kirk was being accused of mutiny, Spock was worried who else Kirk would get to join him, so jettisoned him to the nearest planet.
