It's actually a conspiracy between Paramount and Century Fox!^^^
This is an evil plot by paramount to make us watch the movie several more times.

Where's R2-D2?
I'm a "FAn" of Star Trek on facebook and they said R2-D2 is hidden as an easter egg soemwhere in the film. Obviously nobody here has found him yet or we'd have discussed it, so if you're going again...keep an eye out!
We could play a game and guess where he's hidden...I'll say in the bar in Iowa.

That is very annoying. He should not be there. How the heck am I supposed to fit that into canon? Unless.. Star Wars premiered on earth in the Trekiverse just like it did here and having him in the bar is just some kitschy antique decoration. I suppose this works, after all they obviously still had the Beastie Boys etc.. it's kind of weird though as it would mean my other universe is a fictional story in this universe..

Of course it did. Star Wars was before the Eugenics wars. Therefore, the Star Trek Universe probably had SW, TESB, and RotJ.
They probably didn't get the prequels, though.

I read an interview where some the Trek movie people were talking about having some interesting stuff there, and they said we'd really only be able to see it once the DVD came out because we'd have to pause and look.
I wonder if it's in the debris cloud the Enterprise encounters at Vulcan?
