"Where No Man Has Gone Before" Line-by-Line

Hello TOS Forum folk!

For those who may not know, a bunch of us have been going through each of the Trek films over in the Movies forum doing them line-by-line, where each poster posts a single line from the film, the next poster posts the next line, and so on.

Since January 14th, we have completed line-by-line threads on every movie except the current 2009 film, which we have not yet done due to it not being available on DVD and no script or transcript being available online.

At the conclusion of the Nemesis thread, we had a brief discussion and decided to continue on by picking some episodes from the various series and doing line-by-line threads on them. I'm going to be starting us off with "Where No Man Has Gone Before."

Once we've completed that episode, I'll be compiling the names of all the people who participated and randomly picking one who gets to choose the next episode we do! I invite everyone here to join in!

For those interested in reviewing our movie threads, here they are:

TMP Line-by-Line
TWOK Line-by-Line
TSFS Line-by-Line
TVH Line-by-Line
TFF Line-by-Line
TUC Line-by-Line
GEN Line-by-Line
FC Line-by-Line
INS Line-by-Line
NEM Line-by-Line

And now, back to the beginnings with "Where No Man Has Gone Before!"

You are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Enjoy!

KIRK: Captain's Log, stardate 1312.4. The impossible has happened: From directly ahead, we're picking up a recorded distress signal, the call letters of a vessel which has been missing for over two centuries. Did another Earth ship once probe out of the galaxy as we intend to do? What happened to it out there? Is this some warning they've left behind?

Kirk: Bring it aboard. (probe beams aboard) Old style ship recorder that could be ejected when something threatened the ship.
