Spock: More like destroyed the ship in this case. Look at it. Burned. Pitted.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Let's hope it's tapes are intact. We'll feed it through Mr. Spock's computer.

 

[LeadHead]

Scotty: Aye Sir. (Beep Beep) It's begun transmitting, Sir.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Flash the bridge, put all decks on alert!

Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It's five year mission, to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.

(Note: I know Kirk's voiceover isn't in the original version, but I've heard it on syndicated versions and on TOS Remastered. Besides.... why not? lol!!)

 

[LeadHead]

Mitchell: Hold it, Jim!

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Getting into shape?

 

[LeadHead]

Mirchell: Well I figured you weren't on the bridge. Kelso's voice sounded a little nervous. Well, uh, you finish the game?

 

[Leandar]

Spock: mmm..... He played most illogically, his next move should have been The Rook.

 

[LeadHead]

Mitchell: You're relieved Mister Alden.

 

[Leandar]

Alden: Acknowledged, Mr. Mitchell.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Screen on.

 

[Leandar]

Kelso: Screen on, sir. Approaching galaxy edge, sir.

 

[Captain Roberts]

Kirk: Nuetralize warp, Mr. Mitchell. Hold this position.

 

[Leandar]

Mitchell: Neutralize warp, sir.

 

[Captain Roberts]

Kirk: Address intercraft.

 

[Leandar]

Mitchell: Intercraft open.

 

[Captain Roberts]

Kirk: This is the Captain speaking. The object we encountered is a ship's disaster recorder apparantly ejected from the U.S.S. Valiant almost 200 years ago...

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: This is the Captain speaking.

Spock: Tapes are burned out, trying the memory banks.

We hope to learn from the recorder what the Valiant was doing here and what destroyed the vessel. We'll move out into our probe as soon as we have those answers. All decks, stand by.

Mitchell: Uh, department heads, sir. You wanted everyone on the bridge before we left the galaxy.
