A prequel is a work that forms part of a back-story to the preceding work. This is it's own story, not a lead in.
Low expectations now. Probably going to be lots of studio interference between now and September or whenever it airs.
By the definition of prequel that people have been throwing around here, the upcoming Wonder Woman movie is a prequel to Captain America.![]()
I'd like to see it made - I mean, I'd like to see another three episodes of Sherlock, too - and the anxiety is nonsensical, unjustified and silly.
It's a TV show.
No doubt there will be plenty of blame to go around and around and around...A lot of people are working hard on making themselves unhappy for the next few years and blaming it on some TV producers.
Indeed. It's a hard realization to accept but my favorite franchises are still, at the end of the day, a business venture. If there is not return then I don't fault studios for not continuing on.The strangest reactions I've seen (prominent on Reddit in particular) are the ones hoping it will fail so that they can get something more to their liking (post-Nemesis setting, being less PC, not being from the evil CBS, etc).
If it doesn't get off the ground, or fails after a season, I couldn't imagine how we would get another Trek series.

Just because you find it silly doesn't mean it is silly for others to feel how they do
The delays are worrisome, no matter how you spin it.
The delays are worrisome, no matter how you spin it. And people thinking delays would make it a better show, think again...

yeah, I admit i was disspointed when i found the news on twitter this morning. hopefully the pushback wont be for more then a few months.Trending down. January release, then May, now just delayed and no idea how long. Not a great start
This reminds of the trump warriors screaming against "SJWs" but they have it in reverse. This is the best time to have a proper Roddenberry-esque series. People like to watch what they do not have in real life. The strangest reactions I've seen (prominent on Reddit in particular) are the ones hoping it will fail so that they can get something more to their liking (post-Nemesis setting, being less PC[..]
