Spoilers Where does Boimler go from here?

I don't know if that would be the case. I just know that in the Season 2 trailer, he's seen in Cerritos uniform, with ensign insignia. So either he's been knocked down a level, or some animator goofed.

You think Boimler would let them? That second pip was a REALLY big deal to him. That's why I'm wondering what his new in-show motivation will be if he loses it, and is probably unlikely to get it back (at least for a long time).
Oh, so it will be like that joke in "Profit and Lace." "Acting Grand Nagus."

Purely speculation on my part, but I'll spoiler code it just to be safe. I'
m wondering if maybe the part in the trailer where we see a transporter malfunction while Boimler is beaming back to the Titan creates a transporter clone of Boimler, like Thomas Riker. Therefore, one Boimler will remain a Lt. JG on the Titan, while the other goes back to the Cerritos and is for some reason an Ensign. This way, the show can have its cake and eat it too in regards to Boimler.
CALLED IT!

But with what? Cue endless "moneyless society!" arguments... ;)
My hubby just told me about a story on NPR about venture capitalists buying up mobile home parks and raising rents and forcing people out. So honestly, I think the whole "moneyless society" thing was just trying to give a vision of a society where greed wasn't screwing everyone up/over.

As time passes, I'm more okay with moneyless society. If it's a society where your food, clothing, shelter, and UBI to boot exist then it might as well be moneyless.

But I always felt that STIV was suggesting it was a CASHLESS society, which was different and something we've all but achieved now.

Why would that be a simpler explanation than actually not needing money, merely access?

— I feel like having a jambalaya.
— Sure thing, just ask for it at Sisko’s over there. The limit is one portion per day, though.
— And a personal hotrod starship.
— No problem, let’s put something on the books and see how it fits into your self-actualization goals. Would you like to be a freighter captain? If so, you’d get on that track and eventually be assigned the right make for the purpose.
— No, no, no, no, I’d like to own a starship, you know, just because. And a large property on Risa while we’re at it.
— Unfortunately that doesn’t sound like working to better yourself and humanity. Perhaps you’d like to schedule an appointment with a counselor, who could help identify your passions?
