Where did Voyagers crew live after coming home?

We know the married people (whose spouses didn't move on) had a home waiting for them. But the singles chances are their homes were sold, demolished, whatever. This is something that has always puzzled me they were gone for 7 years. People move on

Without knowing how the Federation economy actually works, there's no way to know. Since a number of crew probably don't live on Earth, we would also have to know how other worlds handle missing persons cases. Suffice to say, however, that with a post scarcity society like the one we see in Star Trek, the crew had no trouble finding a place to live.

There would be apartments or houses available for people to stay at, or guest accommodation on stations, parents homes, quarters onboard new assignments, orbital habitats, aquatic colonies (such as New Atlantis), etc. there are endless possibilities.

They were requisitioned a new residence by the housing authority. Those with higher rank and more connections in the housing bureaucracy got better placements.

You don't have to create a thread for every minor question you have, you know? Esspecially when it's a question that nobody can answer.

I could easily see some members of the crew leaving Starfleet and re-entering the civilian world. They would disperse back to home towns, original planets to rejoin family. The long separation likely did end some relationship, but not all.

Some of them would not have homes on Earth, so would have to buy or rent some place to live, new jobs (outside of Starfleet) would need to be found.

The Maquis were never Starfleet, so they're gone.

Samantha and Naomi Wildman could reunite with their husband and father.

Some of the crew would remain in Starfleet, after some leave they would be reassigned, although I could see many never wanting to set foot on Voyager ever again.

We know that Janeway eventually becomes a admiral (NEM). If she at Starfleet Headquarters (and not some starbase) she might have a home in San Fransisco.

Yeah, what does he think this is, some kind of discussion site?

Well, some of them were. But all of them were criminals at one time. Is there a reason to think they would be pardoned? If so, on what grounds? Good behavior, helping out Starfleet in its inquiries, like Tom Paris?

Then again, 24th century civilian justice supposedly is an extension of 23rd century civilian justice, where criminals aren't punished but instead are cured. A few months in New Zealand or perhaps Tantalus V, undergoing therapy until urges to repeat the crime are gone, and then these folks could walk, and move wherever they wish.

We do see in the erased future of "Endgame" that Paris and Torres are at large. Paris was supposedly pardoned in "Caretaker" already, as part of the deal with Starfleet, but Torres was not. Is her freedom at that future date the result of a pardon at arrival, eight months of therapy, or ten years of punishment suffered? Starfleet justice in the 23rd and 24th centuries does continue to believe in punishment, after all.

Don't forget ankle bracelets to track your movement if you're convicted of the crime of talking to someone who was in the Marquis.

Is there a reason to think they would be pardoned?
The conflict they were a part of is in the past, and I think Janeway would recommend pardons based on co-operation in getting a Starfleet asset (Voyager) back into the busom of the fleet.

Certainly Torres would get one, she's married to the son of a admiral and produced a admirals's grand-daughter. Even if all the other Marquis are summarily phasered out of existance, she's clear.

Starfleet seems big on the forgiveness thing, so I have no doubt the Maquis crew members would be exonerated.

- Janeway should live in San Francisco, not far from the Starfleet HQ, where she will daily work as Vice-Adm. then full Adm. And I guess, with frequent round trips to Bloomington to see her mother if she is still alive, or her sister and her family
- About Chakotay, well, all will depend on what will be decided regarding his future :
=> if he is found guilty of the charges against him when he led the Maquis cellule,
it will be a long stay in a federal penitentiary,
=> if he is found guilty but pardoned thanks to his active collaboration on Voyager, he could be forced to wear an ankle or wrist bracelet to track his movement,
as long as necessary, in order to avoid danger of potential new betrayal on his part,
=> if he is totally cleared, he could be forced to exile - while still under supervision to avoid "surprises" - and in this case, I can see him returning on the land of his ancestors, to contribute to its reconstruction,

(As I already said and regardless his fate as a Starfleet comanding officer in non-canon novels, I don't see the military organisation inviting Chakotay to
reengage in its ranks, especially with his past in the Maquis. It's a matter of honor and reputation for Starfleet and its Admirals. And the Federation has no power to force its military wing to re-hire him, so...).

- Tuvok could, once fully recovered from his health problems (and a long stay on Vulcania), decide to continue serving under Janeway's orders at Starfleet HQ, in San Francisco,
- Harry Kim, became full Lieutenant or Lt Com. (even if I think that it is too early to get this rank), could accept a new commission on another vessel,
- Tom & B'Elena (I guess that she will suffer less than Chakotay from her past in the Maquis, especially thanks to her position of stepdaughter of an influent Starfleet admiral) should decide to settle once and for all on Earth or on another planet, with Tom becoming a holoprograms/novels author & B'Elena offering her engineering experience, as civilian, to Starfleet.
- IF Starfleet agrees no to delete his program to replace it with one of the latest generation, the Doctor could be stuck in a laboratory at Starfleet Medical Dpt, especially if his ermitter is confiscated for violation of Prime Directive. And same if he is free.

I have a question: what makes you believe that the Federation is so easily brought about forgiveness, especially to renegades who, I remind you, attacked its men and equipment?

For my part, I know of no Government of any State in the world, both in the past and in the present (and I cannot imaginethat the situation to be different in the future!), which would have suffered of a form of humiliation through desertion and/or treason from a number of its citizens (who not only
question the policies of their governments, while these said policies have been legally adopted by a vote but, lead armed actions against official military forces), which, once the conflict is over, would welcome/greet these same people with open arms, too glad to use their experience, their thoughts, their ideas and their talents. And even less in a federal political system led by USA, which rarely forgives the actions considered contrary to their general policy, their property and their men.
So, do not expect that, even in dreams, especially after a war! Hey, even the United Nations & their peacekeepers have a policy of sidelining potentially dangerous individuals, known for their (former) criminal activities and/or their armed opposition, which may damage their actions and the security of their men. And that This is to say! As they say, this is not an old dog learns new tricks! ;)

And for those who think I am exaggerating, I kindly inform you that the members of the French Maquis, who had fought during the WW II and survived the conflict, were NEVER recognized/accepted as fighters who freed parts of the land from the German Occupation. Result: after the war, they were either imprisoned/executed for their related criminal activities, abandoned to the vengeance/revenge of some or forced into exile. For some others, stayed in France, underground had become their daily, when they were forgotten. Of course, a very little have managed to take their game but, it was mainly for individual actions. In most of the time, they were already quite happy to blend "into the landscape" and to live a life almost normal,
as their former activities were not discovered!
-> I read somewhere that Rick Berman relied heavily on the French Maquis for the creation of the Val Jean's crew. What a pity he has not pushed his study further because the fate of the members of the Maquis survivors would have been less glorious.and their future already known!

I always felt as if the Federation of the Star Trek Universe kind of operated, at least economically, as a communist state, and politically as a democratic republic. This is all conjecture as I really do not know for sure. Is there any movie or episode from anywhere in the franchise that explains the politics and economics? I find this topic very interesting.
