Where are you in the Trek Universe?

Cardassian ambassador to Betazed, or some other world in need of seeing a side to Cardassia other than guns and death.
Personally, I’d hate to be the only non-telepath on a planet full of people capable of reading my mind, but that’s just me.

Cardassians have pretty formidable mental abilities, though. Dukat was able to resist a Vulcan mind-meld. Somehow, I don't think a Betazoid would be much trouble.

Besides, I would think Betazoids would consider it unthinkable to read someone's mind without their permission. You wouldn't be in danger of having your privacy violated on Betazed, since their society would already be conditioned to leave you alone.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm not from LA, but I'm getting really irritated with the weather this year. It should NOT feel so damn cool in July.

But we had a thread once a long time ago in Misc, and you should be able to find it if you search under "heat tolerance"...and apparently I am already borderline Cardassian, when it comes to what I do and don't feel comfortable with! I THRIVE on heat, and just wither in cold.

I don't do cold well at all. It puts me into a quasi-hybernation. I just want to sleep all the time. My muscles stay sore. I shiver almost non-stop, and I become generally unpleasant to be around. In heat, I feel active. I actually like to sweat. I stay on the go and get tons more stuff done than I do when it's cold. No wonder Garak considered his time on DS9 torture. Being hated by Bajorans would have nothing on being cold all the time and having too bright light in the eyes. I detest bright light.

I know! When Garak complained about the temperature, my first thought was, "No crap! It's a public facility! ALL public buildings are kept at intolerably cold temperatures!"

If Star Trek: The Experience was an accurate recreation of the Enterprise-D, then they must really love air conditioning.

No wonder Picard always wore that jacket.

In an idealized, total-fantasy kind of way I'd want to see myself as the Captain of a Federation starship, without a doubt. The proverbial Hornblower-in-space.

In a more realistic sense, I suspect that if I could manage to get into space at all I'd probably be more akin to the Trek universe's answer to Dave Lister: slobby, obsessed with lager and curries, and convinced he's one of the universe's great guitarists when in fact he's one of the worst.

(I mean, that's basically what I am now, except for the part about being in space.)

I would be on Ferenginar selling fake antique Nokia cell phones on E-Bay.

Realistically I would be an assistant to a high up politician. Or working the masshall/bar.
