I became interested in revisiting Voyager recently. I watched the Workforce two-parter on Spike and was struck by some of the effects and thought it worked well despite being a formulaic story.
I then saw Caretaker and some early episode when Spike started the reruns over and the FX looked pretty bad and everything seemed pretty corny.
The PC stuff was pretty funny as well. It's funny to hear Chakotay refer to always refer to himself as an Indian instead of a Native American as the Indians I deal with now aren't from some tribe. Plus, all the spirit animals and vision quest business seem more stereotypical than enlightened. EDIT: Has anyone counted how many times he's said "My people..."?
So Voyager faithful, when would you recommend I start watching if I'm interested in seeing some old episodes but want to see better stuff? Was there a point where it started to get better or was most of it tosh that you have to cherry-pick the winners from? I remember liking Year of Hell quite a bit but I'm kind of fuzzy on most of the episodes.
