When was SG-1 at its peak?

Season 4 is in my opinion RDA's peak, and the peak of O'Neill and Jackson's interactions, and a great season. It declined a bit in seasons 6 through 8, what with no Daniel for a season, the terribly bland Jonas, RDA phoning it in. It upswinged hugely into season 10, which I love, but not everyone on here agrees.

I think seasons 2 - 5 were the peak. The original team was together fighting the good fight. Season 6 really showed the team splitting up and doing some different things (which coincides with RDA stepping back a little bit) and that continued from then on.
There were plenty of good episodes throughout the series, but I thought 2 - 5 were the most true to the original premise.

This. And as someone who couldn't stand SG:A - I like a lot of the differences in SG:U as I always felt SG:A was SG-1 redux just with a laughable one dimensional enemy - and SG-1 went downhill when it jumped ti Sciffy imo - we have 'Ancients' meddling in the Middle Ages (when hell, they were supposed to be older than the Goa'uld who were interfering with Earth 6000 years earlier? That really eneded the backstory they'd built to that point for me.

There are elements of SG:U I don't care for (like the ending EMO music montage that they do to death) - and the entiire Lucian Alliance subplot and attempted take over was like something out of a bad SG-1 or SG:A episode. I really like though that these peope are FAR from perfect (thank god there's no 'Carter clone' that solves the issue in the nick of time by the end of the episode. The worst thing they could do is go BACK to that formula imo.

And stuff like Cloverfield should just be dunped and forgotten - so yeah the writing staff is far from perfect too; but overall I like what they've been doing with the characters in general. the ONLY thing that I had a hard time buying was Rush being able to keep the Bridge access a secret for as long as he did; and the Earth scientist goingf along with it too. But again, They've had two 'groups go through the gate to an alien world and fight 'evil' series - it's time for something different at this point, and it's why I still am liking SG:U myself.

Seasons 3 to 5

Stargate Command was just starting to interact with more of the community in space. They were making strides in tech with the 302 etc.

Low peak was season 7 when RDA decided to take a backseat and not be in as many scenes as before.

Seasons 3-5 were outstanding. 6 was very good too.

7 and 8 they'd run out of ideas and it was just fluff, 9 and 10 were a joke.

Seasons 3-6 for me. The "Full Circle" episode was a good tie back to the origin of the show.

Seasons 7 and 8 were weak. Season 9 and 10 were an improvement, and they really should have maybe created a follow-up show after season 6 with a partial new cast.

Stargate SG1 is a series where I can enjoy the whole series. Some seasons are better than others, but I am always entertained.

i like the ori arc best, even though i missed hammond and o'neill, and the addition of vala to the main cast was annoying. well, and dr jackson's search for yet another ancient wonderweapon grew tiresome. the ori, doci, priors, and their technology more than compensated for the weaknesses, and i liked in particular the exposure of what religion is about. also good that the shrewdest goa'uld, baal, stayed around.
