Years ago, I used that clip of Uhura for a doctored videotape. Her screaming came two seconds after the STAR TREK V logo wobbled onto the screen. Instantly following her shriek were quick clips of McCoy bellowing ''aaah!'' in the CITY ON THE EDGE OF FOREVER teaser, Chekov screaming "'AAAAAAIIII!!!!!''on the bridge in THE THOLIAN WEB, Scotty groaning ''Aheeeee!!!!'' from I, MUDD, Sulu yelling ''AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!'' as McCoy needles him in THE NAKED TIME, and finally a close-up of a smiling Shatner from the end of THE MENAGERIE.
Plus the bit where the bridge crew painfully cover their ears from IMMUNITY SYNDROME, only this time reacting to Shatner singing about rocking horse people eating marshmallow pies.....

Those sort of demand to be remade for YouTube...

I've probably strayed too far off the topic, though. Just what made Uhura scream so chillingly?

Not touching Uhura, but standing over her as the SCREAM
dies into a gasp and Uhura slumps against her panel,
trembling. Then Henoch (Spock) crosses to the command
position where he seats himself in the command chair,
where a blank-faced Christine stands at this side. He
turns to Suly at the helm.

HENOCH (SPOCK)

Shall I make na example of you,
too, Helm? Take us out of orbit.
A course for Earth!

SULU
(hitting controls)
Look for yourself. The ship
won't respond! Nothing works!

In b.g., the elevator doors snap open. Kirk and Anne
enter, with McCoy slightly behind them. He'll have
his hypo ready, but hidden by Kirk and Anne crossing
in ahead. Henoch (Spock) doesn't bother to turn. Just
before they reach him.

HENOCH (SPOCK)
Pain, Kirk! Exquisite pain.
(turns to Anne)
And you, my dear...

Kirk has dropped like he is pole-axed, writhing, GASPING
as if his body begs to scream out the pain, but is un-
able. Henoch (Spock) has pointed at Anne, freezing her,
shuddering, but before he can assign her punishment,
Sulu has been pushed beyond endurance and whirls out of
his seat to attack Henoch (Spock) but immediately suf-
fers the same fate as Kirk. Anne, as Henoch (Spock) takes his attention for an instant from her, has crumpled into a trembling ball on the deck.

So it looks like if there had been any exposition, it was in Scene 106--which only existed in some earlier draft. But it looks more like all along, it had been planned to be a surprising, shocking cut. It looks like Uhura was simply inflicted with the same kind of pain that was inflicted by Henoch on Kirk and Mulhall. I think that the ability stems from the incredible power of these beings, not from Spock's abilities. (We saw how Thalassa could destroy McCoy "with a single thought.")

This. And we're not supposed to know what it is. The implication is that it's more horrifying than we could possibly imagine. Anything describing it would only be a let down.
