What's your unpopular opinions on SNW?

DS9 had no fewer than eight important main cast and supporting/recurring characters if we count Jadzia, Ezri, Kira, Keiko, Leeta, Kai Winn, Molly O'Brien and Ishka. Entire episodes revolved around female characters and one even involved Quark donning female Ferengi makeup and appearance to experience what Ferengi females go through on a regular basis. I don't remember DS9 being accused of steering too far towards a "female audience."
I think people are trying to deny the plainly obvious fact that a show that features mostly women as the main cast is, practically by definition, female-centered. Again: That's fine. I've watched a lot of shows like that. But I do think SNW has a subtext of hostility towards men baked in specifically so that women can appear strong in contrast to them (call it a post-#metoo rationale) rather than simply writing the characters better. It isn't layered on super thick, but if the situation were reversed, if the male characters were doing the exact same thing to the ladies in the exact same proportions, you would notice it instantly.

Not...mine. And I'm pretty manly.
I AM going to have to make that supercut, aren't I?

This will do for now. It's a two-fer: A fat slob annoying Ortega and reminding her why she went lesbian, and Uhura rolling here eyes repeatedly at a guy just trying to do his job! (Men, amirite?)

Same.
I currently work in an agency were the four supervisors in my direct reporting chain are female.

I have worked in a business were the direct reporting chain was all male.

Somehow, my nerves handle this absurd situation very well. Why? Because sex in leadership is not a factor. They work with me; I work with them. That is how I live my life. I don't feel this is that hard.

Here's Star Trek leadership lessons that I use:

And they seemed to have this figured out in TNG. Not so much on SNW. (Scroll back up and watch the clip I just posted).

Two of the three most important characters are male (Pike and Spock). M'Benga is not only skilled in martial arts and combat tactics but is the CMO and pretty high up the chain of command. I'm not sensing this "girls' club" atmosphere you are and I'm not a dummy, I'd pick up on that kind of thing.

Oh, and Admiral Robert April, not only the first Captain of the Enterprise but the flag officer to whom Pike and Spock and others directly report when the ship runs into serious problems. A dude. A man's man, one might say.

Like his ancestor, a cop from Montréal.

Since I just stumbled across the single clip that encapsulates everything I am talking about (I just shared it above), I will post the link again and we can just call it "Exhibit A" in defense of my point.

No, this clip is not "all that SNW is", but multiply it by about half a dozen other moments and I think you will grok what I am driving at. This is Star Trek, not a modern office drama. Why exactly do we need this "girls rule!" moment sledgehammered on our heads?

It would be one thing if the ladies were annoyed at, y'know. "those Starbase Six Know-it-Alls!", but clearly this is a slap at presumptuous men. Wouldn't you call this pandering?

Boy oh boy! Talk about killing the messenger! Grin didn't write that crappy scene, kids.

Anyway, I officially conclude my "unpopular opinion" rant. If I'd found that video earlier it would have said everything I've already said five times. NuTrek is filled with moments like the one in that video, and it is the reason I suspect the show will last maybe two more seasons.
