what's your local weather?

Looks like we're almost definitely getting snow on Wednesday after it finishes in the Carolinas and shuffles up the East Coast. We'll take a warming trend whenever you're ready, Mother Nature.

We'll maybe get another inch of snow overnight tonight. Right now, it's about 20F, a bit windy, and bright, bright sun - which is reflecting off the ice-coated snow from last week. Sunglasses day out there. :mallory:

About 40 F and cloudy. We probably won't see much sun again until the end of the new week.

Yesterday afternoon, besides being hot (36C), it also got a little windy. The Hobart Cup had to be cancelled midway though the meeting. This is what Elwick Racecourse looked like after the wind had passed.

Some people cope with the wind better than others.

The Hobart Regatta also faced the same winds, with similar damaged being done.

We ended up with about 2 inches - and I got woken up at 2 AM by a plow in the parking lot behind my house. Seriously, that couldn't wait til real morning? It's super bright sunny again now, cold, windy... the usual. And the cat is still mad about it all.

34 F and cloudy. Snow's coming and we might get upwards of 6 inches on Wednesday and Thursday.

So they keep saying. Around here we learn not to take the winter forecasts too seriously and just wait and see.

Now they've increased our snow forecast to 7 or 8 inches with a slight possibility of even more than that. I do not envy the people shopping for milk, bread and beer during the course of the next twenty-four hours.

You definitely should not envy the people who SELL milk, bread, beer, etc. at times like that. :sigh:

(The bad-weather panics around here are absolutely legendary. I've seen weather panics in my store that would make anyone puke. And in almost all cases, they are NOT justified.)

I love the way different regions handle different kinds of bad weather.

7-8 inches of snow tonight? That ain't nothin. We'd still be going out to the bar!
