What's the purpose of Grudge

Garak234

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Given Discovery's and Books love of alien creatures and the importance of Grudge to Book Grudge should have been a sentient cat possibly past queen. Instead Grudge is used as a soundbite with the camera to "look at the cute cat." If Grudge wasn't given a character reveal by this point in season 4 will she ever?

Do you have pets? If so, this answers your question.

then again, if i had been told that the cause of the Burn was an emotionally overloaded Kelpian child, last season, I would have .. actually I'm used to Trek enough I don't know what I would have done. Grudge is the Anomaly.

Grudge's purpose is to be the Nibbler of Discovery. Most likely, we will get the big reveal in one of the upcoming seasons. I imagine it will be similar to Nibbler's reveal in Futurama. She is a Queen, after all.

I feel like having it be some ridiculous tentacle monster or sapient being like the cat in Captain Marvel would be more befitting the kind of low effort cliché we have come to expect from Discovery, and that a nice, simple, mundane, normal cat without any bells and whistles (well, maybe a bell) in the vein of Spot and Porthos would be the better option.

We need not always go over-the-top. Sometimes a cat is just a cat, and that's okay.

Ha! I've been expecting Grudge to become Captain Marvel cat ever since she was introduced. Happy to continue being proved wrong.
