What's KRAD up to these days?

Mage

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I noticed he has nothing in the schedule for 2012. I hope that just means he's only taking a short break from Trek and will be back in 2013.
Or have I missed something and has he quite Trek all together?

I hope not, some of my favorite novels are by KRAD.

There hasn't been any new Trek prose by him released since March 2010 (Seven Deadly Sins), so sadly it already has been more than a "short break". :sigh:

2012 will see the release of more of his original stuff, though.

There will be two new books in his "... Precinct" universe: The novel Goblin Precinct and the short story collection Tales from Dragon Precinct (collecting all stories already released in various anthologies together with brand new stories).

Avenging Amethyst, the second book in his Super City Police Department series.

And more from his corner of the Scattered Earth universe in Innocence in Guilt.

I'll never join twitter or facebook, so alas.

I completely forgot he wrote original material as well! I know he wrote for other series and such, but perhaps I could check out some of his original material, see if anything tickles my fancy.

Here's one more voice in the chorus of people who'd love to see more Treklit from KRAD.

I really love his take on Trek. He almost always hits the right balance between exploration, moral and ethical quandaries, action-adventure and humor. He's serious, but without loosing that mark of optimism that makes Trek so different from most contemporary sci-fi. The issues he homes in on resonate, and his characters connect.

I just finished "Articles of the Federation" a while back - can't begin to describe how much I'd love a sequel to that one ...

I'm still p####d off that I can't find a copy of Articles... over here in the Netherlands. It's the one Trek book I really, rrally want. I suppose I can order abroad, but shipping is a b###h, and I can't justify so much shipping for one book. :(

I've got the two Precinct books that have already been released, and they were quite fun, so I'm looking forward to more this year. A shame he doesn't seem to have anything trek related lined up though.

You've managed to sum up exactly what makes KRAD my favorite Star Trek author, in a way I haven't really been able to put into words myself. As much as I love some of the works of other authors, I feel that they can sometimes get a little carried away and lose a little bit of what makes Star Trek so great. I never had to worry about that with KRAD. (Unless it was in the Mirror Universe or one of the other Myriad Universes, of course. Then it was death and destruction all around ;))

I'm a big fan of KRAD, and would love to see him do more Trek. For anyone who's a comic book reader and is interested in more KRAD Trek he's written a Wildstorm miniseries called Perchance to Dream and two standalone single issue stories for IDW, Alien Spotlight's Klingon issue, Four Thousand Throats, and Captain's Log: Jellico. PtC is included in the DVD collection, and the two IDW issues are available either in digital individual issues or in their respective series' collection.

I miss KRAD around the board as well. He used to be here all the time with tons of info at his fingertips. I had hoped this thread would at least get him to pop in, but I guess he doesn't check in here often anymore.

Yeah, it seemed like when Marco was in charge a ton of authors posted on here all the time that don't anymore. Dayton isn't around much, I haven't seen William Leisner around much lately, DRG3 publicly left, obviously the new editors have no presence... It's sad.

I mean, like all messageboards, this one has its share of negativity and I can see how if I were an author I might come to the realization that it was taking too much of my time and bumming me out. Still sad.

Is the implication that those editors did something to encourage forum partcipation?
