What would you like to see in the finale episode of Season 5?

Procutus

Admiral
Admiral
We know that the series finale is going to land us at the doorstep of TOS, with Pike stepping down and Kirk assuming command of the Enterprise. We know that both McCoy and Sulu will be introduced.

But beyond that, what might happen, should happen, or plain and simple, what would you like to see happen?

For me, it's three things and I'll be upfront and admit that none of them are likely to happen. First and foremost, I'd really like to see Kirk bring Gary Mitchell over with him, as their history is pretty well established. I'm hopeful that maybe Gary will get introduced sometime in Season 4, which would set up Kirk using his prerogative to bring him along.

Of course, there's currently a Mitchell serving as navigator. Could be awkward.

Secondly, the need to explain why M'Benga is stepping down as CMO, only to later appear in TOS as a doctor serving under McCoy. Unless of course, the theory that Joseph has a younger brother who is also a doctor is brought up, which makes sense to me. Just have to wait this one out.

Finally, I'd love to see Admiral Nogura introduced and be involved with the transfer of command, but realistically because of his previous involvement throughout the show, Admiral April is the more likely choice. As much as I like Bob, I just think it's high-time (and a perfect time) for Nogura to finally appear onscreen.

That's my wish-list, unlikely as it might be.

I don't really need or want to see any canon trivia - don't want to see running time taken up by fan service nonsense.

But, of course, it will be.

Just make McCoy's brief time on the show as interesting and unpredictable as Kirk and Spock have been. I don't care about Sulu.

Depending on when exactly when these scenes with Sulu and McCoy are set it would be nice to see Sulu in science blue.

Me personally I would make the finale contemporary with menagerie so him being in the more recognisable gold would make sense but him being in gold on his first day would be lazy. Like if All Good Things had season 1 era Worf in gold instead of red.

SNW has had a lot of costume errors and inconsistencies so I wouldn't entirely hold my breath but it would be nice for them to acknowledge the brief time Sulu and Uhura were in different divisions.

No, I don't think we do.

Anyway. I'd like to see some hint of the fate of the non-legacy characters...perhaps narrated from far into the future like telling a story to Picard's class at the academy about one of Pike's last missions aboard the Enterprise.

lol i would like to see what happens to the strange new world crew members like erica laan and una who never showed up and or were not mentioned in the original series

Less gimmicks. More straightforward Star Trek storytelling. I know we have at least one gimmick episode with the puppet episode, but I would just like to see less of them. So many episodes of this show feel like they could have "Friends" titles -- The one where we do Alien, The one where we do Omalas, The one where we cross over with the cartoon, The one with the musical, The one with Q, The one with the holodeck, The one with the documentary...

I want to see Pike meet his fate. Maybe have the season finally connect somewhat to Discovery.
I personally don't want to see him meet his fate, but I would be into the final scene being something like Pike one scene before, if you get my drift. Someone reports that they're ready for Pike to begin the inspection tour. The one he knows it will be.

We're on his face, watching the mix of emotions. Naturally, he doesn't want to go. But after some really good non-verbal acting from Mount we see him come to terms with what he has known for so long. And he smiles as he steps through the door to meet the cadets.

The End.

It's pretty well established that people switch divisions and wear different colours sometimes, so it wasn't a costume error in TOS.

The one thing I would like to see is that The Menagerie is not the end for Chris Pike. I am not a fan of the idea that his ending is living in an illusion. That doesn’t seem like the Pike we’ve gotten to know since Disco season 2.

I don't really see his post-Menagerie life as an illusion, I see it as assisted living. Pike and Mina use 'illusion' for their appearance and mobility, but still live the life they choose to live. They make decisions for themselves, the Talosians abilities simply allow them to live full lives in their remaining years.
