What would you like to see a standalone SW movie about?

Candlelight

Now that Disney has Star Wars there'll be movies coming out every year until the sun goes dark.

With this trilogy spaced every two years and a stand alone movie to be placed into between them, what other areas do you want to see?

I don't want to have the Star Wars universe turned into a prequel paradise, setting movie after movie with characters or events we know stuff about.

I'd rather see something new that is set apart from the Skywalker family storylines.

Early days of the Jedi/Sith. Maybe contained to a single planet with a more medieval vibe, outside of the light swords they develop.

Young Yoda. no, seriously. since the old EU is out we could change the chronology and place Young Yoda at the forefront of the "death" of the Sith. YY was the prophecized one of his time, noble but racked with doubt that he was worthy. He will rise to the occasion to defeat the big bad Sith of his era.

Boba Fett. Just him on a bounty.

Young Han Solo saves Chewbacca and defects from the Imperials and becomes a smuggler.

The Rebels' first major battle stealing the Death Star plans (oh, wait!)

Once we know the state of the galaxy in TFA it will open up a slew of movies that could be done in the 30 year gap.

I'd like to see a film about Captain Rex and his troops - modeled on his character portrayal in Clone Wars and Rebels. I really liked how CW in particular humanized the clones and I think translating that to the big screen would make for a compelling film.

How about a tale of how it was during the Expansionist Era?

Corellian Engineers figure out the Hyperdrive and The Galactic Republic is founded.
Republic scouts find the Jedi, and the link between the Jedi and Republic is established.

A movie about the events that led to the demise of the Sith a thousand years before the prequels could be cool. Dialogue in Revenge of the Sith implied that the Sith actually ruled the galaxy for a time.

Keeping things closer to the era we know, I really want to see a spinoff about Kenobi's adventures while watching over young Luke on Tatooine. I'm picturing something similar in theme to Yojimbo and Sanjuro, which would be appropriate given the influence Kurosawa's films had on George Lucas when he was developing Star Wars.

If I have my Galactic History correct, I believe the Sith appear as far back as 27,000 BBY

They form an Empire again around 4000-5000 BBY

And all the way up to Palpatine, so there is plenty to work with there!

I really like your idea of exploring Obi Won and Young Luke on Tatooine. Another time that would be rich in storytelling, I think.

I'd love an Old Republic film , live action or animated.

A Yoda prequel, filling in some of his backstory

Some movies , or a television series, set in between Episodes VI and VII. 30 years is a lot of ground to cover. Maybe after Rebels, they will do that.

Since they deleted the scenes from ROTS, a movie regarding the aftermath of Palpatine's actions and the real birth of the Rebellion.

"Seven Samurai" with Jedi. Set a few years after RotS, Survivors of the purge (and friends) are gathered up by a grizzled, old, one-armed Mace Windu (Living under an assumed name in the darkest alleys of Coruscant) who has been hunted down by a force-sensitive kid in the hopes of procuring his help fending off the Imperial invasion of an outer-rim planet where the first inklings of a serious Rebellion has begun to form in earnest. An Alamo-esque finale (and death of these last few Jedi) kick-starts these beginnings of the Rebel Alliance.

Something with cute kids and Ewoks. Maybe even with Jar Jar with the kids, meeting the Ewoks. I'd love that shit!

Real answer: Three films, one about a Rebel fighter squadron, one about an elite TIE squadron, and then a final one where they face off. Call them "X-Wing", "Tie Fighter", and "X-Wing vs Tie Fighter". :techman:

Darth Vader between trilogies. A move set between episodes I and II. Obi Wan movie.
Yoda meh. Old Republic with more than two Sith lords, hell yeah.
Han Solo solo movie maybe, if it's done right.

Maybe not Windu, but this is the best idea I've seen so far.

You want to throw Samuel L Jackson OUT of this idea?!
